UPSs package tracking system?
Inputs: The inputs include package information,
customer signature, pickup, delivery, time-card data,
current location and billing and customer clearance
documentation.
Processing: The data are transmitted to a central
computer and stored for retrieval. Data are also
reorganized so that they can be tracked by customer
account, date, driver, and other criteria such as the
consolidation of orders for efficient final delivery of
packages.
Outputs: The outputs include pickup and delivery
times, location while en route, and package recipient.
The outputs also include various reports, such as all
packages for a specific account or a specific driver or
route, as well as summary reports for management.

these Technologies related to UPS business
strategies?
Firstly is delivery information acquisition device(DIAD),it
can automatically captures customers 'signatures along
with pickup and delivery information. The information
can be accessed worldwide to provide proof of delivery
to customers or to respond to customer queries.
Next is UPS network. It is a global electronic data
communication network that provides an information
processing pipeline for international package
processing and delivery.

management system. manage global service orders
and inventory for critical parts fulfilment.

The strategic business objective that UPS information
system address were provided best customer services
to the customers. Every year UPS spend more than $1

performance. UPS invest and use a lot of systems or
software to increase the company performance. For
example, Package Tracking System, UPS using this

delivery process. The UPS can always improve

Firstly, UPS company will not very efficiency. In addition,

If the technology were not available, then UPS would,

that information to its customers, but at higher prices.

provide value because they help customers complete
their tasks more efficiently.

packages. people can not know where the package has
