Lack of hotels and inns 4. Lack of entertainment system Prospects :
For the development of tourism industry the following measures can be taken: 1. The water transport system and road and road transport system needed to be improved. 2. The condition of the tourists lodges , resorts etc can be improved. 3. The traditional food, clothes, culture etc can be made available for the tourists which will help in the development of the economy of the place. 4. A cultural centre could be established in order to exhibit the cultural resources of the Satras and the tribes dwelling in Majuli. 5. Birds observation places could be established. 6. Provisions could be made for the rafting and yachting for the tourist. CONCLUSION Majuli has the prospects to be a world class tourist place. Efforts has been made to give the status of world heritage site to Majuli by government and other association.
