The value should be more than 20 k Internal Use 10 Testing Subrack Functions Step Action Index 1 Powering on theSubrack Check whether the POWER ON indicator on the DPFU board in the interface area is on and whether the subrack is powered on. 2 Checking the Fan Check the indicator on the front panel of the fan tray assembly. 3 Checking Board Indicators Check whether only the green indicator of each board flashes once every other second. The yellow indicator on the SCC boards is constantly on. 4 Testing the RST Button Press the RST button on the SCC board of an NE to restart it. Internal Use 11 Testing the Visual and Audible Alarm Step Action Details 1 Testing the ALC Switch Remove the fiber connector from a receiving optical interface. The NE reports an alarm and buzzes. Turn the ALC switch down and check whether the alarm sound stops in three seconds. Internal Use 12 Checking Fiber Connection Step Action 1 At the client ODF, connect the transmitting (Tx) and receiving (Rx) optical interfaces of an SDH analyzer with the Rx and Tx optical interfaces of an OTU board. 2 At the line ODF, loopback the IN and OUT optical interfaces of the FIU board ensuring a 10 dB attenuator. 3 Send optical signals to the OTU board through the Tx optical interface of the SDH analyzer. And then the Rx optical interface of the SDH analyzer should receive the signals after loopback. It indicates the fiber connection is correct.
4 Check the fiber connection of other OTU boards in the same way. Internal Use 13 Continue Step Action Description 1 Setting Alarm and Performance Monitoring Use the T2000 to set performance and alarm monitoring. Observe the performance event as long as possible, at least one hour. 2 Testing ECC Communication in a Station All NEs should be accessed through NM. If any NE cannot be accessed, check the fiber connection or parameter configuration. 3 Backing Up NE Database The NE database can ensure that the SCC unit restores to normal operation automatically upon data loss or power failure. Internal Use 14 Testing Equipment Restart Step Action 1 Switch off the subrack. 2 Switch on the subrack after ten minutes and check whether the boards run normally. 3 Check whether the services operate normally. Test some typical services and make sure there is no bit error or abnormal performance event. Internal Use 15 Inspection Items after Site Commissioning Item Description SCC The ALC switch is in the upper position. Orderwire phone The connector of the phone cable is inserted in the corresponding interface; the ring switch of the phone in ON, the dialing mode is T and the TALK button is not active. Board interface The fiber jumper for test purpose is removed and the normal connection is recovered.
ODF The fiber jumper for test purpose is removed and the normal connection is recovered. T2000 NM All loopbacks of the boards are released and the services configured for test are deleted. Internal Use 16 Chapter1 Preparation for commissioning and testing Chapter2 Site commissioning Chapter3 Networking commissioning Internal Use 17 Network Commissioning Network commissioning aims to: Connect all NEs in a network in line with the engineering design scheme. Test services of the network to verify the configuration. Test required functions for the network, such as orderwire and protection switching. Test long-term communication quality of the network through alarm and performance event. Internal Use 18 Checking Network-Wide Fiber Connections Step Action 1 Measure the optical power . Make sure the FIU boards receive the optical signal from the opposite station. 2 Measure the optical power from the OUT interface of the FIU. 3 Check the fiber connection and the line attenuation between other adjacent stations in the same way. In this commissioning sub-item, check the following two items: Whether the transmitting and receiving optical interfaces of the line cables are connected correctly.Test required functions for the network, such as orderwire and protection switching. Whether the optical attenuation in the line is normal. Internal Use 19 Testing the Supervisory Channel Step Action 1 Check the fiber connection of the OSC unit 2 Use an optical power meter to measure the transmitting optical power of the OSC boards. It should range from 3 dBm to 6 dBm. 3 Use the 10 dB optical attenuator to adjust the actual receiving optical power of the OSC boards to 30 dBm. The OptiX Metro 6100 can offer two modes of supervisory: Whether the optical attenuation in the line is normal. Optical supervisory channel (OSC) Electric supervisory channel (ESC) Testing OSC Testing ESC When the OTU starts to work and the service is normal, the ESC route is set up. Internal Use 20 Adjusting optical power the main operation is to use optical attenuators to adjust the following optical power values.: Input optical power of the optical amplifier at the transmit end. Input optical power of the optical amplifier at the receive end. Input optical power of OTU at the WDM side.
