The LCS, which stands for League Champion Series, is part of several tournaments under the LoL esports
domain, the official professional tournament platform hosted by Riot. Over the entire globe there are

THE SEASON ONE CHAMPIONSHIP
The first League of Legends premier competitive season took place at DreamHack in Jnkping,
Sweden. There, at the largest LAN event in the world, the best League of Legends teams from all across
the globe gathered to do battle over a $100,000 prize pool. Ultimately, European powerhouse Fnatic
MSI claimed victory, taking home both a $50,000 grand prize and the title of League of Legends Season
One Champion.
Over the course of the Season One Championship over 1,690,000 viewers tuned in to watch the best
League of Legends players in the world compete, making it one of the biggest and most successful
eSports broadcasts to ever take place.

THE SEASON TWO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
2012
Taken place at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California, the second World Championships featured
twelve teams representing five regions and a prize pool of 2$ million. After many intense matches,
Taipei Assassins ultimately claimed victory, capturing the Summoners Cup and the title of Season Two
World Champion.
The numbers of people who watched the championship reached 8.2 mil viewers over the course .
THE SEASON THREE CHAMPIONSHIP
2013
In the final on October 4 at a sold-out Staples Center, SK Telecom T1 took down Royal Club to claim the
Summoner's Cup and a $1 million prize. During its peak, more than 8.5 million people watched the
finals simultaneously.
More than 32 million people watched the League of Legends Season 3 World Championships final in
October online and on TV, Riot Games announced today. This makes the event the most watched
eSports event in history, the company said.
By comparison, Game 6 of the 2013 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis
Cardinals drew 18 million viewers. The 2013 Super Bowl was watched by over 108 million people.
