The Games/Shed
Intro

In this third project we will look at the

material of being human.

One aspect of
this is when we
come together
as a group, for
instance when
we socialise.

We want you to
look at this with
respects to a
design proposal
for an exhibition
stand for a
specific game.

The exhibition will move to various locations, so

it needs to be demountable and transportable.

Inhabited Scoreboard

Shed with integrated Amphitheater as roof structure

It is expected that the games will actually be played

so you need to make provision for players and
spectators.

How is the game viewed from the shed (Kroen Kraging & We Made That) Magma Architecture

Is the the game viewed from another device? (headspace samsungolympics)

You will be given

a kit of parts to
make your
exhibition from,
in this case a
timber shed
2.44m x 3.66m
(8x12).

analysis

Analysing the games

Your game has a prescribed area to play in
and specific rules for you to follow.
You need to find out what these are.
rules/aim > layout info sheet
many people can play
audience spectator relationship
how long does a game usually take
who is/used to play the game

Baseball Diagram: Means

of representing rules &
space on a single page

Analysing the games

spatial requirements for the game
body movement diagrams
spectators/audience diagrams

Example of spatial requirements for a game

Does it need to be on a standard surface? (vertical football & football halfpipe)

Precedent translating spatial choreography to a single page

Example body movement diagram - sequencing

For Wednesday Finalised by Monday 3rd November

Two groups of 3 students making 1:1 models of 2 games
(Bat and Trap, Shuffleboard or Skittles)

Wednesday showing
- area to play in and specific rules to follow
- rules/aim > layout info sheet
- audience spectator relationship
- spectators/audience requirements and diagrams
- how long does a game usually take
- how many people can play
- who is/used to play the game
then each of the six groups to produce the following (by next Monday, but starting for
Wednesday or earlier)
