WHAT IS PROBIOTICS ??
Good bacteria in human body

There are almost 400 types of probiotics mainly


found in the digestive system

Microorganisms, when administered in adequate


amounts, confer a health benefit on the host

HISTORY OF PROBIOTICS
Introduced by Ellie Metchnikoff in 1908
He proved that Bulgarian peasants longevity is due to its utilization of
fermented milk products

In 1965, the term probiotics was first used by Lilly and Stillwell

To find the factors that influence the student to include

To investigate how deep the student knowledge on

diet.
Lack of information about probiotic
foods is the main reason why students
do not consume probiotics in their diet
Most of the students consume
probiotic foods due to health factors
Most students are aware of the benefits
of probiotic but lack of information
about the mechanism of probiotics

RECOMMENDATIONS
Campaigns be organized by government to educate the society.

Schools provide free probiotic foods such as Vitagen and Yakult


Mass media to give more information on probiotics and their benefits
Government organized probiotic foods week

Parents play their role to educate their children to take probiotic food
