Identify Various Toolbars:

areas of AutoCAD 2012.

Template Files

Note:

Remove from selection set:

Note:
You will need to be able to remove a previously selected object from a selection set
without using the Remove command.

Erase Functions

Note:
You are asked to exclude a section of objects from a tightly grouped set using the
Window Polygon function inside Erase.

GRIPS

Note:
When using the Grips tools in AutoCAD what keyboard command allows you to change
between selected points?

Running Object Snaps

Note:
Using the right-click function to access the Object snap menu you will have to check and
uncheck listed Object-Snap functions.

Creating Repeating Patterns

Note:
There are multiple ways to accomplish the above grid. However, there is one way that
is quicker and more appropriate than the others. What would you use to complete the
grid?

Dynamic Input & Direct Distance

Note:
Starting at 0,0 Draw the above shape with the shown measurements and
angles using coordinate entry, dynamic input, and Direct Distance.

Drawing Shapes with Given

Measurements

Note:
Given the starting points and the dimensions, you will be required to create the listed
shapes using coordinate entry.

Snap/Grid/Polar Tracking Settings

Note:
Test takers will be asked to change and manipulate the Snap, Grid, and Polar Tracking
points.

Layers

Note:
Create a list of layers with exact names, line types, colors, and Line weights given.

Identify changes

Note:
Identify the changes made from the two drawings listed:

Properties

Note:
Given an object and what parameters to change, you will be asked to alter those
properties.

Fillet

Note:
If given an object and specific radius dimensions, what command do you use to round
corners, how do you access the in-command menus to alter the size of the corners?

Stretch:

Note:
If you want to Stretch an item(Top item) a specific distance (4.00), what selection tool
(Window, Fence, All, etc)would you use to gather the points for moving part of this
object?

Trim/Extend

Note:
Given the above object, using trim and extend you will be asked to finish this object
by closing the corners of the given shape.

Layouts

Note:
Label the layout sheet tabs using a given name system, also create an additional layout
tab and rename it.

Adding Text/Notes

Note:
Adding Notes is vital to every drawing, you are expected to know how to change text
styles, and add a specific note to a drawing.

Dimensions

Note:
You will need to know how to access the dimension properties, from the Annotate tab,
and how to adjust the sizes inside the dimension properties drop box.

Hatch

Note:
What property(s) inside hatch would have to be modified for the the two
drawings to match?

Blocks

Note:
Create a block using a given object.

Polylines

Note:
Using a Polyline and its internal options, you will be asked to alter the width, length
and other options to create a simple shape.

Plotting

Note:
When plotting, what option would be used to make sure everything shown would
be included on the print? Under what is that option listed?

Final Points
3 strikes and youre out! You will get three chances to complete each part
of the question. So make your choices wisely. If you get two strikes take a
second and think about what you are doing, it could be your last chance
on that entire question.
Take your time, but also realize you are limited on time(40min).
READ EACH DIRECTION CAREFULLY!
Complete each step in the order given
Follow each direction to the T, any deviation will flag you for a strike.
This test is 2012 ribbon and application based, Drop Menus and typing are
not allowed. It wont flag you for a strike, it will however slow you down.
Know multiple ways to access the commands, especially side options to
the above commands(Right click, etc)
Hovering over icons will not help give you a hint, so its important you
know and are able to identify the icons without help.
