Raman scattering
According to Raman :
A beam of light through a transparent
substance will undergo scattering when the
energy dissipated and comprises almost the
entire frequency range of the incident light, it
is called Rayleigh scattering.
But if there are additional scattering at certain
frequencies above or a little below the
frequency of the incident light, it is called
Raman scattering
RAMAN EFFECT
Raman effect discussed about the Stokes shift
and anti-Stokes shift. This is the wavelength shift
of the inelastic scattered radiation that provide
structural information. In Raman, the photon
energy can be shifted either higher or lower,
depending on the state of the studied molecular
vibrations.
Summary
