Paging Capacity of RNC Iu Interface

Every CMP module can deal with 840000 Paging messages per hour from CN.
There are 4 CMP modules configured for CS Paging.
The total Paging capacity an hour is 840000*4=3360000 paging messages.
The number of CMP modules which handles Paging messages can be configured by
parameter

Paging Capacity of UU Interface

Related PCCH parameters are defined in Criterion 34.108. Two modes,
240bit/10ms and 80bit/10ms, are transmitted in PCCH. We usually use the mode
240bit/10ms. According to the definition in the protocol, the length of IMSI-GSM-MAP
is 60bits;with further consideration of selection bits and paging reason bits, one
PCCH frame can carry 3 IMSI. The length of TMSI-GSM-MAP or PTMSI-GSM-MAP
is 32bits, therefore one 10ms PCCH frame comprises at most 5 TMSI paging or
PTMSI paging.
Paging channel of each cell includes one of the following combinations:

Assume GOS is 2% ,there are total 15%IMSI+85%TMSI/PTMSI in this network.
So the CE number is 5*0.85+3*0.15=4.7. After checking the Erl-B table as below,

Paging success rate degradation mainly come from poor coverage
Suggestion
Suggest to adjust minimum Required Received Level in the
Cell(Qrxlevmin)(dBm) from -111 to -105 and minimum Required
Quality Level in the Cell(Qqualmin)(dB) from -18 to -15 of LAC 2345
cell
Suggest to increase PICH Power(dB) from -7 to -5 of LAC 2345 cell,
also change DCH Downlink AC Threshold(%) from 85->95
Suggest to adjust detected Preamble Threshold(dB) from -21 to -24
for LAC 3345 cell
Suggest to adjust PRACH Initiation Tx Power Constant Value(dB) from
-21 to -18 for LAC 3345 cell
