Introduction
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a concept
whereby organisations consider the interests of
society by taking responsibility for the impact of their
activities on customers, employees, shareholders,
communities and the environment in all aspects of
their operations.
This thesis is about the satkeholders who are related
with the company.
Corporate Social Responsibity is about the benefits,
services provided by company to the stakeholders.
A famous poet narrated the CSR very well:
Gain all you can
But not at the expense of your conscience
Not at the expense of our neighbors wealth
Not at the expense of our neighbors health.

Company Profile
MSSCL was established on 28th April, 1976 at
Akola.
Maharashtra State Seeds Corporation Ltd.,
popularly known by its brand name MAHABEEJ
is one of the largest and leading State Seeds
Corporation among all State Seed Corporations in
India serving in the larger interest of farmers from
three decades with farmers faith brand loyalty,
quality assurance, dedicated service and
sustainable contribution for upliftment of farmers
with Glorious achievements.

MAHABEEJ is primarily engaged in


production, processing and marketing of
seeds of more than 50 crops and 250
varieties and hybrids in almost all
categories i.e. Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds,
Fibre Crops, Fodder, Green Manuring Crops
& Hy. Vegetables.
There are 9,300 share holding farmers

Company Profile

Seed production programme is being taken up in


Maharashtra and other States to the tune of 9 Lakhs
quintals which may expand up to 12 Lakhs quintals
in future.
50% rebate in inspection fee for achieving 200 hect.
and above area in one village and 25% rebate for
achieving the target up to 100 to 199 hect. for seed
growers.
Incentive based schemes on genetic purity and
germination for different crops varieties.
MSSCL has also taken up seed production in other
prominent seed producing states viz. AP, MP, Gujrat
& Uttaranchal etc.

OBJECTIVES
The Main Objective of the Study is
A Critical Analysis of Corporate Social
Responsibility towards Stakeholders, with
Special Reference to MAHABEEJ Seeds
Corporation, Akola
To study the Corporate Social Responsibility.
To study the CSR of MAHABEEJ Seeds Corporation.
To study how MAHABEEJ is using CSR for their
stakeholders.
To study how CSR is beneficial for MAHABEEJ.
To study how CSR is helpful in increasing the
company goodwill or brand image.

Research & Methodology


Primary Data: Personal Interview.
Questionnaire for the Customers,
Employees.
Secondary Data: Website of MAHABEEJ.
Broachers, Magazines, Journals, etc.
The Sample size is 150. 100Customers, 50-Employees.

Limitations

Time
Geographical Area
The survey is costly & tedious.
Sample size is very small.
Getting responses from the
stakeholders is difficult

CSR ACTIVITIES
EDUCATION:-

MSSCL Provides free


education to the farmers of
neighborhood villages to make
them aware about the modern
agricultural techniques.
To encourage the farmers & their
children about the agricultural
science.

ENVIRONMENT:- For the safety of


environment they have taken measures like
tree plantation & had planted approx . 1.5
millions trees in the area near the vicinity.
In this activity the farmers have also
contributed their efforts.
To control the Green House Effect by
reducing the amount of poisones gases
relesed by the factories which is altimatly
responsible for globle warming.

The firm also help the villagers at the


crucial time money shortage &
unemployment by providing money &
seeds.

By providing useful equipments to the


needy and poor farmers as per their
requirements. Eg:- tractors, fertilizers, etc.

In worst condition of climate their was no


rain in Vidarbha region the poor farmers
tends to commit suicide under the debt
taken by the bank & has not money to
repay them.
At that time the company take initiative to
look upon the victims family by helping
them through money or giving employment
to the family member of the victim.

In Vidarbha region water resources are very


few, it is very difficult to supply the water
through out 12 months, so the initiative
must be taken on this problem.
MSSCL is taken a step forward to educating
the peoples by rising the awareness among
them about water harvesting & by
arranging various seminars on this topic in
this region.

Conclusion
MAHABEEJ is really working for farmers but
they should also provide some to society,
environment.
In research it was found that they only
concentrating on the farmers they should
also concentrate on all stakeholders.
They should also arrange some programs in
the society for the educating general public
about the environment, farming etc.
They should also organize some cultural
programs for farmers.
