Project and site justification:

The College is affiliated to Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and

Technology, Murthal for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes . It has been
approved by the Council of Architecture . The College also has the approval from the
State Government of Haryana .

The college is presently running s in industrial area ,but the site of 7.38 acre for the
same is being proposed in the RAJIV GANDHI EDUCATION CITY ,which includes the
requirements of M.arch and residential area ( hostels ) .

Hence the HSA campus needs to be shifted from its present location , because the
building is presently on lease of three years and needs to be expanded as required .

Rajiv Gandhi Education City is going to be the biggest educational project not only in
NCR region but throughout India. No campus in India occupies area as big as 5000

The site being proposed in Rajiv Gandhi Education City Phase 1 located on NH1 having
the major advantage because the following education city can be major boost for driving
middle class families out of Delhi if they allow good universities under their belt and can
create opportunities for employment for lecturers/ teachers/ human resources/ class IV
jobs.
Kundli is an emerging new destination which comes under district Sonepat and is 15-20
minutes drive from Pitampura/ Rohini and right on National Highway 1. Kundli is
approximately 31 kms from Connaught place and 2.5 kms from Delhi border.
Even in the Delhi Master Plan 2021, Kundli is projected to be part of the NCR, which
would also be a benefit of location to the project , being constructed in the NATIONAL
CAPITAL REGION

ARCHITECTURAL CHALLENGES /OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT :

The school of architecture demands a very strong architectural expressions

something unique about it and providing a learning environment in context
to scale , proportion , physical character hence designing the building as a
resource for learning / teaching through its functionality and aesthetics .

The school demands special emphasis on aspects which are essential for
highly specialized activities such as workshops , construction yards , jury
rooms for evaluation and display of works , hence there is a need to
understand the relationship between different functions of spaces allocated
and designing a detailed layout as per the requirements and standards .

Structure is also considered as a major challenge in case of planning

column free spaces and auditorium .

Designing a climate responsive building in order to decrease the use of

mechanical means of lighting and ventilation .
