As the environment of organisation including economic, political, competitive,

regulatory and cultural factors becomes more complex, there is an increased
demand for managers with the necessary skills, understanding, courage and energy
to tackle the difficult demands facing organisations of all kinds. The Master of
Business Administration (MBA) programme not only helps its students to develop the
above skills that are highly valued by many employers but also presents a theoritical
context for solving many business related problems. An MBA with different
specialisation streams prepares an individual to meet the greater demands of
tomorrows advanced industrialisation.
Vivekananda School of Management Studies, a post graduation unit of Vivekananda
College of Engg. & Technology, was established in the year 2007. The programme is
affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, and is recognised by
AICTE, New Delhi. The department offers specialisation in Financial Management,
Marketing Management and Human Resource Management (HR)

Background:
The college has been managed by Vivekananda
Vidyavardhaka Sangha which has a a history of more
than 100 years in running educational institutes in
and around Puttur. This is a non-profit organization
run purely for a social cause. VSMS has been
identified as a centre for excellence in imparting
quality Management Education to aspiring students
from across the country and is successful in bringing
out overall excellence from its students.

Directors Message

The MBA programme at VSMS is an attempt to build people skills for the students,
particularly from the rural segment; with a strong focus on team skills,
indispensable to any organization. A comprehensive teaching- learning pedagogy
inclusive of real life role plays coupled with management games, mock drill,
presentations, group discussions and case studies are used to mould the budding
managers and business leaders.
As a multi disciplinary business school we offer a full portfolio of business
studies, with emphasis on Marketing, Finance and Human Resource Management.
To enhance learning, our faculty employs a variety of teaching methods, including
case analysis, individual and group projects, classroom discussions, guest lectures
and active learning modules.

VSMS has a rich tradition of fostering creativity and the arts. Cultural Programs
are organized by the students on different occasions. Kite flying, flower
arrangement, Yakhsagana, Rangoli art, Goodu Deepa Making all these
enhance artistic skills of students.
Athletics & Fitness
VSMS students compete in university sports and zonal sports meet. In addition,
students can participate in intercollegiate sports and physical education
courses, and enjoy state-of-the-art recreational facilities.
Student Life
Situated in Puttur away from noise of city VSMS gives student a clam and
peaceful life helping them to concentrate on building themselves. Students
