Vision and Mission of the Institute

Vision of the Institute
To create a center for imparting technical education of international
standards and conducting research at the cutting edge of
technology to meet the current and future challenges of
technological development.
Mission of the Institute
To create technical manpower for meeting the current and future
demands of industry; to reorganize education and research in close
interaction with industry with emphasis on the development of
leadership qualities in the young men and women entering the
portals of the Institute with sensitivity to social development and
eye for opportunities for growth in the international perspective.

To establish a centre for imparting Metallurgical and Materials

To provide Metallurgical and Materials Engineering manpower

and Materials Engineering industry, research organization and
academic institutions by imparting quality educations.

The program shall equip post graduates to obtain higher

State the process for establishing the

PEOs (5)

The programme educational objectives are designed

focusing on an outcome in order to ensure quality and
technical competency of the students by the
Department Faculty Board (DFB), commensurate with
the criteria of American Society of Mechanical
Engineering (ASME).

Approval of M. Tech. post graduate program with its

regulations
and
procedures
by
the
Senate
Undergraduate
Governess
Board
(SPGB)
and
subsequently approved by the Senate(Apex academic
body) and Board of Governess (BOG) of the Institute.

The Senate periodically year to year refines the academic regulations

and curriculum of the M. Tech. post graduate program to be in tune
with the established PEOs based on the recommendations of the
SPGB and DFB (Department Faculty Board) which is also documented
in the Course of Study bulletin published periodically by the Institute.

Modification of the design of the program from feedback given by the

student is regularly obtained to ascertain the quality of education
imparted to them in tune with PEO.

Industry and academia feedback is regularly taken through

interactions during conferences, workshops and through curriculum
development programs to continuously upgrade the curriculum
content.

Establish consistency of the PEOs

with the Mission of the institute

The PEOs of the programme are consistent with the mission of

the Institute. The post graduate programme is designed to
achieve the Educational objectives and the curriculum lays more
emphasis on learning. Efforts are made to encourage selflearning, creative thinking, and critical evaluation, spirit of inquiry
and in imbibing the culture of lifelong learning. Our experienced
faculty with a passion for teaching and commitment to Research
and Development makes this Institute, a premiere institute of
learning in India. Quality teaching is what it aims at so as to
stimulate intellectual curiosity, creativity and innovativeness
among the students and meets the demands for technical
manpower in the Metallurgical & Materials industry, R&D
organizations and research institutions.
