Lyric Video Analysis

George Michael may have been one of the first to

make a lyric video. In the early 90s he released an
official video for his song Praying For Time. It is a
simple video with white font lyrics on a clear black
background. The words stand out, so that there is
nothing distracting the audience from the words.

preparing for war or she has declared war. Maybe she
has declared war on all the other rappers in the
industry. She may be challenging them and she is
made to look very powerful and superior with her back

In the next shot she is sitting on a red throne being
fanned by two servant men and she seems to be
directing her army. Thecolourred signifies royalty.
Again, feministic values are being portrayed, she is

This may signify the feature on the song and the
