DISCUSSION
Vandana Sharma 2004; Parenting style such
as
warmth,
close
regulation,
strict
enforcement of family rules with clear
emphasis on consequences of behaviors,
and democratic recognition of childs
viewpoint have been consistently associated
with low levels of behavioral problems.

Alev Onder dan Hulya Gulay, Children who are

grown up in the families of permissive
parents can be selfish. These children do not
show interest to others feelings and thoughts.
They may have insufficient self- control and
lower self- confidence. They may have
insufficient social skills
Children with this characteristics have
potential chance to cause trouble during
dental treatment.

Wendy K. Lamont 2008; On the role of

parenting in younger children found that
harsh parenting was the primary determinant
of behaviour problems for both children aged
2-3 and 8-9 years
A one-point increase on a 10-point scale of
harsh parenting was related to a 50%
increase in risk for behaviour problems.

Sean G. Boynes et. al. 2014; Pediatric anxiety

and fear of dental care is multifactorial and
the parents have a significant role in its
development.
The communication process between the
child-patient and parent can include negative
connotations may cause children cannot be
cooperative in dental treatment.

CONCLUSION
There is a significant influence of parenting
style towards cooperative levels in children
aged 3-5 years during dental treatment.
The authoritative parenting style is most
affecting cooperative levels in children aged 35 years during dental treatment.
