Zest-O Corporation is the leading food

and beverage Filipino company
competing with the multinational
companies. It has always kept with the
ideals of providing quality products at a
reasonable price to its clients.

The said printing press was engaged into making cellophane wrappers of biscuits
and candies and stayed 20 years as a business. Then in 1979, while touring around
Europe, Mr. Yao came to discover the packaging format called Doypack in one of the
exhibits. He bought the machine and tried to market the idea of using the Doypack
format to local juice manufacturers in the Philippines but nobody seemed interested.
He himself used the said equipment and started preparing a fruit juice drink in his
own kitchen.
The company was established as SEMEXCO Marketing Corporation, soon after it
adopted the name Zest-O because of its fame. In 1980, Zest-O juice drink was
launched and soon, it became a big-hit in the Philippines and eventually capturing
80% of the market for ready-to-juice drinks. Soon, other flavors were introduced to
the market such as orange flavor are mango, grape, pineapple, strawberry,
guyabano (sour soup), apple, calamansi, mango-orange, mango-calamansi and
mango-lemon lime flavors.
Yao soon launched other brands including juice brands including Sun-glo Juice
Drink, Big 250 Juice Drink, and Plus! which exported to other neighboring countries
in Asia like China, Korea, and Singapore and in some parts of America and Europe,
Tita Frita Tomato and Banana Catsup, Beam Toothpaste, One Ice Tea, and Tekki Yaki
Udon.

he is also President and General
Manager for Solmac Mktg., Inc.,
and President of various other
companies including Semexco
Marketing, Inc. and SMI
Development Corporation. Mr. Yao
is also Director of Export &
Industry Bank. The Chairman
acquired an engineering
background at Mapua Institute of
Technology, and has had
entrepreneurial and business
management exposure since 1960.

printing lamination and bagging of the Zest.o
made after the finish product of those
wrapper/container, they will deliver it to the
next section or other branch in kaybiga
Novaliches Quezon City where filling process
done.

EDSA branch. Then they will process here the
filling of juice product of the Zest.o

According to Mr. Ticbaen the Planning Manager of Zest.o

Corporation her Salary is 1000 day then for the Overtime he
received a 125 per hour so 1000+4hr of overtime he will get a
1500 salary a day .
For the Regular employee the Minimum Salary is 466 a day
so in 6 days of working he/she also received an estimated salary
of 2796 php per day.
Then for the Contractual Employee the Minimum Salary
is 466 a day with the overtime of 4 hours. The Contractual
Employee they work only in 5 days with 5 Months Contract.

PRODUCTION
PROCESS

Step 1 : Printing
In this step, they first make the
front face of the wrapper / container
they also print the logo and the name
of the product and other information
to prove that the product legally
approved by the sectors of the
Government .

Step 3 : Hard Lamination

The purpose of this lamination
is to harden the inner layer of the
wrapper/container of the product, and to
ensure the juices that filled inside is
clean and to avoid dirt and the wrapper
cannot easily be destroy.

Step 2: Lamination (soft)

In this step, the purpose of this
lamination is to make wrapper neat
and easily to recognize if the juice
contains unnecessary things that can
harm the consumers health and
safety.

Final Step : Bagging

This step contains the
finalizing the package of the
product and making the final
form of the wrapper/container
and this container bag will be
deliver in to next section or
area for the filling process.
