Normal call flow on Ericsson hardware-overview

#.Subscriber switch on the GSM handset, signaling message sent to HLR via uplink-BSC RPG--BSC ETC--MSC ETC--HLR ETC to AUCRP of HLR for authentication,
MS latched in the network after successful authentication and MSC/VLR get updated
with location & MS profile data.
Normal Call flow:1.Calls originated from MS will carried over Uplink to GSM antenna and than to BTS
By RF feeder cable.
2. BTS will carry this call up to BSC on A- bis E1 links at 16kbps data rate per call.
{ i.e. 4 calls combined per time slot (64kbps) of E1 link.}
3. Call will reach to Group switch via related ETC/ET155 of the BSC/TRC
4. Central processor will pass instruction to related RP of Group switch & TRC
to assign Transcoder device from TRC-pool for rate adaptation of call from
16kbps to 64kbps.
5. After rate adaptation in TRC, CP will pass the instruction to Group switch for
switching of call (T-S or T-S-T) and Call will be send to ETC/ET155 attached with
MSC/A-interface
6. Call (64kbps) routed to MSC on A-interface.

7. Call (64kbps) reached to MSC on A-interface E1 link , MSC-CP analyze & check
the A-No. info in updated VLR for profile verification.
8. After A-no analysis MSC-CP analyze the dialed B-no. and pass the instruction
via RP Handler & RP to Group switch for routing of call to outgoing TSM of group
Switch.
9. Echo canceller device get attached as per definition of software routes.
10. Call routed to outgoing Malt Device incase of GSM to GSM within network call
or on UPD device in case of PSTN/other network call on the destination E1 link
time slot (64kbps) of ETC/ET155 .
