Introduction

Introduction
In the present growing economy of India, the country
also faces the uprising of Crime rate. The offense has
generated losses in properties, valuables and money
and many solutions are performed to minimize and to
prevent the crime. Vehicles theft, which is the main
concern for the conduct of this project, is one of the
biggest crimes which are hard to eliminate. The project
and research is conducted for additional features in
vehicles alarm system. The device can be added to the
present vehicles alarm system without any major
modification to it

Introduction contd
When the vehicles alarm is triggered, through forced entry or
motion sensor detection, the in vehicles phone will send
SMS message to the owners mobile phone to alert him or
her to check the vehicle. The SMS message gives
immediate alert to the vehicles owner, even if the thief gotten
away with the car, so that the owner can immediately take
instant actions to notify the local police department or
contact the vehicles immobilizer service which come with
most GPS car system to immobilize the vehicle. The main
components of the toolkit include microcontroller, GSM
modem. These components are integrated with the device
board and thus incorporate the wireless features.

Introduction contd
Microcontroller is the heart of this project All the
communication devices are interfaced with the
Microcontroller Every time whenever the Engine is
accessed using any communication Device an SMS will
be sent to the Authenticated owner from the GSM This
authenticated owner number is stored in the EEPROM
device which is also interfaced with the Microcontroller
But the SMS is sent to all numbers which are stored in
EEPROM when an Emergency Switch is pressed The
Relay is used to control the Engine according the
instructions received from the communication devices

Introduction contd
The LED is used to show which device is accessing the
Engine The LCD Display is used to tell what is the
position or status of the Vehicle engine. This information
is fetched from the EEPROM which stores the
information of vehicle engine Relay is used to regulate
the power supply to the engine GPS is used to track the
exact position of the vehicle The position or the status of
the vehicle is stored in the EEPROM instantly even in
the power off condition

Literature Study

GSM

GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications,

originally Groupe Spcial Mobile), is a standard
developed by the European Telecommunications
Standards Institute (ETSI) to describe protocols for
second-generation (2G) digital cellular networks used by
mobile phones. As of 2014 it has become the default
global standard for mobile communications - with over
90% market share, operating in over 219 countries and
territories

GSM Network

GSM

Network structure

The network is structured into a number of discrete

sections:
Base Station Subsystem the base stations and their
controllers explained
Network and Switching Subsystem the part of the
network most similar to a fixed network, sometimes just
called the "core network"
GPRS Core Network the optional part which allows
packet-based Internet connections
Operations support system (OSS) network maintenance

RFID

Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is a technology

to record the presence of an object using radio signals. It
is used for inventory control or timing sporting events.
RFID is not a replacement for the bar-coding, but a
complement for distant reading of codes. The technology
is used for automatically identifying a person, a package
or an item. To do this, it relies on RFID tags. These are
small transponders (combined radio receiver and
transmitter) that will transmit identity information over a
short distance, when asked. The other piece to make
use of RFID tags is an RFID tag reader.

Use of RFID in various fields

RFID systems are used for the following:

General transport (logistics), tracking a package, parcel; replacing
barcodes
Many countries have started using RFID chips in passports
Making products harder to falsify; currently proposed for drugs
Sealing for containers (for the shipping industry). Not required yet.
Identifying animals; used for tracking pets, but also for research, for
example on turtles.
Keys for vehicles. The vehicle key has an RFID tag inside; only the
key with the right RFID tag can start the vehicle (this makes copying
vehicle keys harder). Also used for locking/unlocking vehicles from a
distance.
