What is Configuration Information?

Configuration Information
Create the configuration information by running TBMRCFG.EXE
Create file DISREC.INI in directory TBMRCFG located in your system partition
Should be run every time TSM Backup-Archive Client runs a backup as a prescript using the PRESCHEDULECMD option in TSM

Disrec.ini contains the following information:

How your disk layout appears
Partitions that should be formatted as default
Information about your disk volumes
How your hardware configuration appeared at the backup point
How your network settings were configured

Setup of TSM BA Client

Windows
Make sure you backup all local drives, ASR and System State
Modify TSM BA Clients default include/exclude values (TBMR will do this on install)
Configure and setup Open File Support (VSS or LVSA)

Linux
Backup all local mount points and exclude only the data you is not required
Set Virtual Mount point for /dev so the TSM BA Client can backup the device nodes

Supported BA Client is 5.5.x.x to 6.1.x.x

Tivoli Storage Management Servers

Recommended minimum Server level 5.4.x.x
Supported Server version is 5.4.x.x, 5.5.x.x, 6.1.x.x
Note: TSM Server 5.5.x.x is required to support for Windows Server 2008

How to Recover with TBMR

Find a recovery machine. Create a VM, setup any RAID volumes

Boot up using Cristie TBMR CD or Pre eXecution boot Environment (PXE)
Configure your TSM Location (TCPServerAddress, TCPPort, Nodename, Password)
TBMR can now inject new Disk and Network drivers to your system
Partition/Format your hard disks
TBMR starts TSM BA Client to restore system drive from Point-In-Time
Boot into the recovered OS. Start TSM Backup-Archive Client and recover your
data/application drives
