ABOUT THE GAME

Now ive got you - you son of a bitch!, As the name implies, is one of the
more hurtful games we
can play.
In got you!, As it is sometimes called, there are two players
The persecutor
The victim
The persecutor is the central player,
He or she is drawn to this game since it provides an opportunity to vent
anger, rage, attitude etc
The persecutor waits for the victim to fail in some undertaking - and then
he pounces in addition to venting,
The persecutor's habitual involvement in got you! Is also reinforced by the
validation of one of his primary assumptions about life, namely - you cant
trust anybody!

EXAMPLE
A lady in the store bought two kurtis on sale. When she
came out of the store, she realized that accidently the
shopkeeper has given her an extra kurta, so she had
three kurtis in total. Delighted, she thought of grabbing
the opportunity and went again in the shop and asked
the shopkeeper to change the third kurta for another
piece she liked before but didnt buy because she didnt
want to spend more. The shopkeeper exchanged the
kurta and so the lady had three kurtis of her choice at
the price of two.

ABOUT THE GAME

Wooden Leg is best played by someone disadvantaged in some way, it
becomes the excuse card.
The Player can use race, age, physical or mental disability,
bereavement, or any other disadvantage to play.
This disadvantage is termed the Wooden Leg.

The player is given a job to do, or a set of responsibilities to oversee,

and fails completely to take the job or responsibility seriously until
something goes very wrong.

When called to account for their failure, all accusations are brushed
away with the phrase Well, what do you expect from someone with a
wooden leg?.
Thus the failure and consequences are shrugged off and the player of the
Wooden Leg card expects there to be complete mitigation on their part.

EXAMPLE
My aunt is a polio patient and has been on a
wheelchair for several years. Instead of giving
up, she with her familys support has overcome
her disabilities and is trying to reach out to
other people affected by polio through her NGO
in Lucknow.
This shows how a woman on a wheelchair is
differently abled and a help to the society.

ABOUT THE GAME

White is consistently helpful to other people, with some ulterior
motive.
He may be doing penance for past wickedness, covering up for
present wickedness, making friends in order to exploit them later
or seeking prestige
Most people (or peoples) who play "Happy to Help" have both
friends and enemies, both perhaps justified in their feelings.
Their enemies attack their motives and minimize their actions,
while their friends are grateful for their actions and minimize their
motives.

Therefore so-called "objective" discussions of this game are

practically nonexistent. People who claim to be neutral soon show
which side they are neutral on.

EXAMPLE
During the initial days of college, I was very
good friends with this girl. But because of some
ego clashes & she thought that our friendship
affected her studies so we grew apart. By the
end of our college she realized that throughout
the years I had actually been helping her out
unlike the other people who she thought would
actually help her. Now, she is trying to gain
back the friendship and is also helping me in
my studying.
So her ulterior motive to help me is to cover up
for her past wickedness.

ABOUT THE GAME

In "They'll Be Glad They Knew Me," White is working
not against but for the interests of his former
associates.
He wants to show them that they were justified in
treating him with friendliness and respect and to
demonstrate to them, for their own gratification, that
their judgment was sound.
In order for him to have a secure win in this game, his
means as well as his ends must be honorable, and that
is its superiority over "I'll Show Them."

EXAMPLE
During my time in
Danceworx, the promotions
to studio head were a big
deal for every instructor.
For many only the position
that they held as a studio
head mattered and not the
monetary benefits. They
worked hard to get to that
position.
