Background
The ELDOA has been derived from a
large variety of treatment techniques,
the common concern of which include
the analysis of movement in the body
and its effect on the spine.
Dr. Guy Voyer facilitated the interindependent movement of "Junghans
functional unit," by which he realized
that micro-movement affects macrofunction
Definition
ELDOA is a method of exercise that
"creates space" and improves the function
of specific joints while also strengthening
the postural muscles that support the spine.
ELDOA's are specific postures or positions
that are held for one minute and target
specific vertebral levels of the spine to
enhance mobility.
These postures are segmental spinal
specific.
