Murree Brewery is a Pakistan based company

Manufacturer of Pakistan made foreign liquor

Manufacturer of non alcoholic, fruit juices and energy drinks

Three divisions:

Liquor division

Tops division

Murree glass division

History

Established in 1860

Owned by the Bhandara Family

Between 1885 & 1890 company established


breweries in Rawalpindi and Quetta

Brewing was mostly transferred to the Rawalpindi brewery but


malting continued at Ghora Galli till the 1940s

In 1959, it was taken over by the Government of Pakistan to


house the office of the President of Pakistan.

Tops Food and Beverages a division of the Company was


established in 1969.

The Hattar plant was installed in 1992.

A Tetra Pak packaging facility was added in 2001.

Environmental Factors
Affecting Organization

The sale of Alcoholic products is confined to Pakistan

Good quality Barley is not available in Pakistan.

Imported from Australia which results higher production costs,

Face aversion in the form of religious extremism.

Factors affecting demand

Warmer season results in high demand of Fruits juices, fruity


malts and other non-alcoholic drinks

Alcoholic beverages sales are influenced due to political,


seasonal or other types of external factors

Being a production business, the Brewery follows through the same


steps as any regular business which creates a finished product for
its customers

Being the most sold product for the company, the production of
Beer is one of the most important subsystems in the whole
organization.

Beer brewing takes about a month to produce a batch from raw

Mouth feel: is the perception of body in the beer and is caused


by the residual proteins and dextrins in the beer.

Flavor: By far the most important and enjoyed element of


drinking a beer is its flavor.

Finish: (Also called after-taste.) The lingering sensation after a


beer has been swallowed is called the finish.

Bouquet:Hops alone determine the bouquet of a beer.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Updating the plant and equipment

Maintaining a common warehouse with its suppliers for raw


material and a common warehouse with its distributor for
finished goods

The company should update its performance measures

Front line employees should be provided with special training


programs and refresher courses
