STUDY

Principles of the KBSR Syllabus Design


English is a compulsory subject in all primary and
secondary schools in line with its status as a second
language;
The teaching of English is schools is to enable
school- leavers to use English in the daily lives;
Allows students to pursue higher education in the
English-medium;
Learners linguistic ability is in line with the NEP and
Education Act to optimise their intellectual,
emotional, spiritual and physical potential;

English is also taught in ICT studies;

English grammar is taught with its usage in


speech and writing;
The sound system is also taught to enable
them to use internationally intelligible English;
The syllabus outlines the aims, objectives and
learning outcomes to be achieved;
