WHAT IS IT OJT?

On-the-Job Training (OJT) provides unique

opportunities for participants who already possess
some job-related skills and the knowledge to learn
as you earn.

BENEFITS OF OJT

The OJT participant acquires new skills and

knowledge, and also receives the same wages and
benefits as current employees in similar positions.

BENEFITS OF OJT

The employer benefits by

being reimbursed for part of
the participants wages during
the training period, while
having the services of a fulltime employee.
This may serve as an incentive
for employers to hire.

OJT takes place in a normal working

situation, using the actual tools and
equipment that trainees will use when fully
trained.
Training has specific goals of improving a
trainees capability and performance.

OJT is particularly
appropriate for developing
skills unique to an
employee's job - especially
jobs that require locallyowned equipment and
facilities.

Morale, productivity, and professionalism will

normally be high in those organizations that
employ a sound OJT program.

To promote
reintegration into
the workforce,
TBWA has
established an On
the Job Training
program.

OJT is provided
under a contract
with an employer
in the public,
private non-profit,
or private sector.

Through the
TBWA OJT
contract,
occupational
training is
provided for the
trainee in
exchange for the
reimbursement of
up to 50 percent
of the wage rate to
compensate for
the employer's
training costs.

Employment that
does not qualify
for OJT
participation are:
Part Time work
Telemarketing
Commission Only and
Staffing Agency work

If you have an
upcoming interview with
an Employer, bring a
copy of the OJT flyer
and present it to the
Employer so they are
aware of the program.

If you are in need of

Recruiter assistance
and/or other intensive
job search assistance
and are work ready,
meet with your Career
Counselor to schedule
an appointment with
the Recruiter.

Recruiter ask yourself these

What is the nature of your need to
meet with a Recruiter?
Are you registered in Employ
Florida Marketplace with an
uploaded resume and online
application?
Are you using Employ Florida
Marketplace as a significant part of
your job search?

experienced (such as interviews, resumes,
transportation, child care, background issues, etc.)?

Do you have an updated hard copy of your

resume?
A copy of your Resume will be sent via email
to the Recruiter and it must be in a Word
Document format, ending with the
extension .doc, such as MyResume.doc.
