AIM
DICOM file management system to transfer
Medical Images securely.
In DICOM format, these records can then be
sent to the DICOM server so that they may be
accessed via the DICOM Viewer for Diagnosis
by Doctor whenever it is necessary.
To build an easy and efficient Common DICOM
conformance model for transmission, receiving
and storing of medical images.
Existing Difficulties
In the past, many of the medical information produced by hospitals
(such as medical records or imagery) have trouble to transfer from
place to place.
The main reason for this being the difference in the many formats
that are used by each and every brand.
At present there are number of methods available for
the communication and storage of DICOM images.
Medical equipment manufactures choose those that
are favourable to them. Till now there are no common
standards for these image communication methods.
Challenges in current
scenario
With the introduction of computed tomography (CT)
followed by other digital diagnostic imaging
modalities and the increasing use of computers in
clinical applications, there is an emerging need for a
standard method for transferring images and
associated
information
between
devices
manufactured by various vendors. These devices
produce a variety of digital image formats .
Difficulties may be ,we can not make any
communication of digital image information in Medical
Imaging field
We can not make interface with other systems of
hospital information or Radiology Information system
easily
PROPOSED SYSTEM
This System reports the simulation
result of integrating several systems
to
cope
with
(HIS,RIS,PACs)
limitations by using the DICOM
standard.
This System will be designed mainly
to efficiently receive all images from
any
new
DICOM
Compliance
Machines or Modalities using DICOM
Conformance Common Model.
Continue..
The received Images will be properly
Archived using Archive Management and
the Archived Information will be viewed by
the in-built DICOM Viewer for Diagnostic
purpose by Doctor
for Analyzing the
Images..
This System proposed the common DICOM
conformances model.
This DICOM conformance common model
will choose the efficent one among the
various options in existing DICOM protocols.
Main Functionalities
Provide the capability to receive DICOM 3.0 images
from any DICOM 3.0 compatible modality.
Storing this clinical information in a secure
environment
Distributing and displaying both clinical images and
corresponding diagnostic information to Doctors
throughout a hospital or clinic using Medical Imaging
Techniques
System should support unlimited DICOM Compliance
modalities.- Common Interface
Scope :
This Module has to receive DICOM output from Different
DICOM Compliance Modalities
At first , receiving DICOM Data from one Modality is the
scope of this Present Module
Future Scope :
Then ,it will be generalized to N (20 or More) number of any
DICOM Compliance Modalities- It will become focusing
unique feature ,Once it is done
Need to give solution for NON DICOM Data from Modalities
so that NON DICOM Data will be converted into DICOM data
by adding Additional Software and Hardware
RISKS :
In reality , receiving DICOM Data depends on Modalitys
manual. Advanced TCP/IP networking and DICOM Protocol in
Network concept will heavily be used to receive DICOM Data
from Modalities.
