CPU- Stands for "Central Processing Unit." The CPU is


the primary component of a computer that processes
instructions.

DESKTOP- is basically the homepage


where your icons lay

DATA-Computer data is information processed


or stored by a computer. This information may be
in the form of text documents, images, audio clips,
software programs, or other types of data.

EXIT KEY- the key which allows you to exit


off a website or a document

security system, either hardware or software
based, that controls incoming and outgoing
network traffic based on a set of rules.

object. Therefore, computer graphics are

search for something the browser stores the
address on the computer as history

HARD DISK- A magnetic disk on


which you can store computer data.

INTERNET- A network of the


interlinked computer networking worldwide,
which is accessible to the general public.

ICON- little pics on your desktop that


resembles files , programs or folders

JOYSTICK- A controller that plugs into the computer


usually to play video games

KEYBOARD- The board of


keys which allows you to type

LAPTOP- A wireless computer


LASER PRINTER- A laser
printer is a printer that uses a focused
beam or light to transfer text and images
onto paper.

MOUSE- THE device that allows you to


click on different things on the computer

MULTIMEDIA- As the name implies,


multimedia is the integration of multiple forms
of media. This includes text, graphics, audio,
video, etc.

NETWORK- A group of
computers that is hooked together

NETIQUETTE- the correct or


acceptable way of using the Internet.

OPERATING SYSTEM- The


system in your computer that runs the things you
do on it

PC- means personal computer.


PASSWORD- A password is a
string of characters used for authenticating
a user on a computer system.

QWERTY- a term used to describe


standard keyboard.

Random-access memory (RAM) is a


form of computer data storage. It allows data items to be
read and written in approximately the same amount of
time, regardless of the order in which data items are
accessed.

and applications to interact with other users, or to find

engine.

ZIP FILE- A computer file whose contents are


compressed for storage or transmission.
