ATTITUDE
Attitude is defined as a learned
predisposition to respond in a consistently
favorable or unfavorable manner with respect to a
given object. That is, attitude affects behavior at
a different level than do values..

1. REFERS TO FEELINGS OR BELIEFS OF AN INDIVIDUAL.
2. TEND TO RESULT IN BEHAVIOR.
3. ATTITUDE CAN FALL ANYWHERE ALONG A CONTINUUM

FROM VERY FAVOURABLE TO VERY UNFAVORABLE.

4. ARE GRADUALLY ACQUIRED OVER A PERIOD OF TIME.


5. ALL PEOPLE IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR STATUS AND

INTELLIGENCE HOLD ATTITUDES.

6. CONSTITUTE A PSYCHOLOGICAL PHENOMENA WHICH

CANNOT BE DIRECTLY OBSERVED.

Values represent basic convictions that a specific
mode of conduct or end-state of existence is
personally or socially preferable to an opposite or
converse mode of conduct or end-state of
existence.
Value is a judgmental element of what is right,
good or desirable.

foundation for

understanding
of attitudes and
motivation
because they
influence our
perceptions.

Individuals
enter
organizations
with notions
of what is
right and
wrong with
which they
interpret
behaviors or
outcomes.

Values should represents the culture of the business. Its
okay to be competitive and profit driven.

TWO STEP PROCESS


1. The first step in creating values alignment is to find out

what the values of employees are.

The second step is to find out how employees perceive


the values of their organization.

CONCLUSION
Attitude have traditionally been described as a process in
which we logically calculate our feelings toward the
attitude object based on an analysis of our beliefs. Thus,
beliefs predict behavior. But this traditional perspective
overlooks on attitudes and behavior.
Values are ideals of an individual personal importance.
However, to be successful in an organization, managers
need to learn adopted values, a set of values that are part
of the organizations culture.
