An organization chart is a
graphic portrayal of the various
positions in the enterprise and
the formal relationships among
them.

• Non disclosure of informal relationship.
• Fail to show the degree of authority.
• Creation of resentment
• Induces rigidity-stick on to the position
Organization Manual
An organizational manual is a
small handbook or booklet
containing detailed information
about the objectives, policies,
procedures, rules of the
enterprise.
Advantages

• Provides clear written description of the extent


of authority of each position.
• Self explanatory
• Useful in orientation and training of new
employee
• Permits quick decision at lower levels
• Legal document
