What is sixth sense ??

Introduction
What is sixth sense Technology
Main aim of the sixth sense Technology is to connect
the physical world with the digital world.
Sixth Sense Technology is a neck worn gestural
interface device that builds up the physical world around
us with the digital information and enables the users use
natural hand gestures to connect with that such
information.

Research Paper 1 :
WUW - Wear ur world - A wearable gestural interface
Authors:

Pranav Mistry
Pattie Maes
Liyan Chang

Publication :

Association for Computing Machinery / Special

Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction (ACM SIGCHI)

April ,2009

Review of Research papers

Objective :
What is the need of the WUW. how to feel the gap
between the real world and digital world directly by some
physical objects. How to use Physical Objects As
Interface. Exploring the functionally of gesture
recognition to develop WUW.

Review of Research papers

Outcome :
One Wearable gesture interface device which we can wear
as pendant. A Camera mounted on that device will directly
capture the gesture of our hand and do accordingly
without any physical media.

Review of Research papers

Conclusion/Remarks :
In this paper the final conclusion is the WUW device
projects the information onto the surface, wall and any
physical objects like people, card, paper and let the user
interact with the projected information through natural
hand gesture, arm movement and interact with the object
itself.

Review of Research papers

Review :
The Author want to explain us that we can directly interact with
the physical world without any physical device like our laptop,
mobile -phon where we touch the screen to interact with the digital
world. But by this device WUW we can directly interact with the
digital world with our hand gesture or with the object itself. And
author have also explained that what gesture we should use to give
command to the WUW device.

Research Paper 2 :
Sixth-Sense: Context Reasoning for Potential Objects
Detection in Smart Sensor
Authors:

Bin Guo
Satoru Satake
Michita Imai

Publication :

International Conference on Intelligent Agent

Technology- IEEE
2006

Review of Research papers

Objective :
The objective of this research paper is to resolve the
Potential Object detection problem. To use the smart
sensor attached objects to obtain information from
no sensor attached objects.

Review of Research papers

Outcome :
The sixth sense technology or we can say that the sixth
sense skeleton and interference rule has resolved the
object detection problem like existence and probable
location of the object.

Review of Research papers

Conclusion/Remarks :
By research the author have enforced that to reach to the
no sensor objects, we have to select some of the sensor
attached objects to make the sixth sense skeleton to find
the no sensor attached objects.

Review of Research papers

Review :
In this Research paper what I reviewed is that when the
robot like machines interact with the no sensor attached
objects like humans, the interaction can be some how
difficult. To resolve this the object detection technique of
no sensor attached devices are very useful by making the
sixth sense skeleton form the sensor attached objects.

Research Paper 3 :
Mouse Movement Through Finger by
Image Grabbing Using SIXTH SENSE
TECHNOLOGY Authors:

Prateek Agrawal

Kunal Gupta

Publication :

International Journal Of Engineering Science &

Advanced Technology
2012

Review of Research papers

Objective :
The objective of this research paper is to move mouse
cursor on the screen without using any hardware as
example mouse itself. Also not using the gesture
recognition technique or eye tracking system.

Review of Research papers

Outcome :
They have implemented the mouse movement through
fingers by image grabbing using sixth sense technology
which gets processed in MATLAB without using gesture
recognition.

Review of Research papers

Conclusion/Remarks :
The image processing and color recognition technique
using one camera and the MATLAB software the
movement of the mouse is achieved precisionally which
leads to remove of gesture recognition technique of the
sixth sense device.

Review of Research papers

Review :
By taking a glance to this research paper I think this can be
the first step to overcame the Sixth sense device enhancement
of removing the color marker Because it removes the
involvement of the gesture recognition technique. What it
does that it capture the live video of our finger movement and
gives to computer directly and then images of the required
colors is to be obtained.
Now by color recognition we can easily detect the mouse
movement efficiently.

Research Paper 4 :
Holographic Projections Using Sixth
Sense
Authors:

Nikhil Nadiger
Aditya Bhat

Publication :

International Journal of Engineering, Business

and Enterprise Application (IJEBEA)

2013

Review of Research papers

Objective :
The Objective of this paper is to combine the two
technologies the sixth sense technology and the
holography to achieve a hybrid projection.

Review of Research papers

Outcome :
This research has reaching to the outcome that the
combining this two technology is very effective and cost
efficient because they both are known and immerging
technologies.

Review of Research papers

Conclusion/Remarks :
By combining this two technologies sixth sense and
holography, we can create a virtual holography mimic of
the human movement. It has many application area like
entertainment, communication, gaming, animation, Film
making.

Review of Research papers

Review :
By reviewing this research paper what I have understood
is that the both the technologies are very useful in future
for the communication purpose and in entertainment. One
of the very import feature is that The Sixth Sense
technology has the ability to map human movements on to
the computer. We can take this digital component and
convert it into holograms at the
other end using Holo-projectors.

Research Paper 5 :
Sixth sense using Blue tooth instead of
RFID
Authors:

Batchu Poojitha
Madhavi Latha

Publication :
Technology (IJCTT)
April-2013

International Journal of Computer Trends and

Review of Research papers

Objective :
The basic perspective of this research is to use the
Bluetooth based intelligent system instead of RFID.

Review of Research papers

Outcome :
By this research they have outcome with the alert of
objects when they are misplaced or gone to one zone to
another.

Review of Research papers

Conclusion/Remarks :
By using Bluetooth instead of the RFID there will be no
removal or replacing of the RFID tag will be happened.
This automatically differentiate between the person and
the object and knowing who the real owner is.

Review of Research papers

Review :
By review this research paper I can say the use of
Bluetooth Will can eliminate the use of RFID tags and the
network can also be maintained easily when they are being
compared. But the use of Bluetooth also limits the range of
the system and mal function of Bluetooth can leads to
break the whole system.

GAP Analysis
By reviewing all the listed 5 research papers, we can say
that, the use of sixth sense technology to communicate
with the digital world by physical object interface is good.
But still it is not the direct vision to communicate. We
need at least devices like color markers to interact and
understand the users input.

Research problem Statement

We can further improve this device to some extend that we
can reduce the size of the device by adding it to some
every day use smaller size equipment. Because the current
prototype is little bulky to carry it around.
We can use the speech as the command to interact with the
digital world.
We can also use the brain command as we think and it will
done.

Road Map of the Research

For to reduce the size of the device we can use the nano
technology.
For to use speech command we can use the speech
reorganization technique.
For to use the brain command we can use the Underdeveloping Technology "Blue Brain".

Future Enhancement
To make sixth sense work as fifth sense for disabled
person
To Improving of the security level.
Hard wares used can be removed with some extend such
as every day used device.
To have 3D and 4D gesture tracking.

Future Enhancement
To get rid of color markers
The clarity of camera is low so it can not be used by the
photographers so we can improve the camera quality.
Solar batteries via small solar panel
True 3D print media
