Morality or Ethics ?

or whatever....

It all depends on where you are;

It all depends on who you are;
It all depends on how you feel;
It all depends on what you feel;
It all depends on how youre raised;
It all depends on what is praised;
Whats right today is wrong tomorrow;
Joy in France, in England sorrow;
It all depends on points of view;
Australia or Timbuctoo;
In Rome do as the Romans do;

If tastes just happen to agree;

Then you have morality;
But where there are conflicting trends;
It all depends, it all depends;

The difference between

ethics and morality is
similar to the difference
between musicology and
music. Ethics is a
conscious stepping back
and reflecting on morality,
just as musicology is a
conscious reflection on
music.

Ethics as a Branch of Philosophy

(Moral Philosophy)
Putting together in an organized and more
understandable way our knowledge and
discourse on what is good /right, or evil /
wrong.
A body of knowledge systematically
arranged and presented in such a manner
that it arrives at its conclusions coherently
and logically.

ETHICS: A WAY OF LIFE

Ethics not a purely academic discipline. It is
a way to live life.
Theories or knowledge do not necessarily lead
to action or application; knowing what is right
does not necessarily translate into change of
behavior.
We behave based on clear ethical knowledge
because we want to be good human beings.
(ethics of being vs. ethics of doing)

CHRISTIAN ETHICS

CHRISTIAN ETHICS
The branch of theology that studies human
acts to as to direct them to a loving vision
of God , seen as our true and complete
happiness and our final end. This vision is
attained by means of grace, the virtues and
the gifts in the light of revelation and
reason.
