System Approch
This is the modern approch.
It acts as a link between hardware
and software approch.
It also known as Management
Technology.
It has brought to educational
management a scientific approch for
solving educational administrative
problems.

What is System?
A system is a set of inter - connected and
inter related elements directed to
achieve certain goals.
It consists mainly of three aspects :
Input
process
Out put

System Approch to education emphasizes

Identifying and stating the goals to be achieved.
Identifying the processes, methods, techniques and
strategies that may be most relevant to achieving the
predetermined goals.
Building up theoretical foundation justifying the
relevance of these processes to achieving the goals.
Determining specific interactions visualized existing
among various other components of inputs.
Specifying the various kinds of controls needed in the
total system at different points; and
Keeping the whole in mind all the time while
preparing the model or the system.

Three instructional designs

i)

Training Psychology:

It is related to problems of training and making

teaching and learning more effective .
ii) Cybernetic Psychology:
Interdisciplinary science dealing with
communication
iii) System analysis:
It is more objective while making any system
workable and worth while .

The system of a system are as follows:

a) Sub-system:
Which is not visible but can be felt and smelt.
b) System:
System of an institution or a place or a country
should
be understood in relation to education.
c) Supra-system:
No system can be studied without considering
its suprasystem.

SYSTEM APPROACH
Advantages
Helps to identify the suitability of
the resource material to achieve the
specific goal.
Technological advance could be
used to provide integration of
machines , media & people attaining
the defined goal.
Helps to assess the resource needs ,
their sources & facilities in relation
to quantities , time & other factors .
It permits an orderly introduction of
components demonstrated to be
required for systems success in
terms of student learning.
It avoids rigidity in plan of action as
continuous evaluation affords
beneficial changes to be made.

Limitations
Resistance to change. Old ways
are difficult to erase.
Involves hard work. Systems
approach requires hard &
continuous work on the part of
school personnel.
Lack of understanding.
Teachers and administrators
are still not familiar with
systems approach. Though it
has been successfully
implemented industry, it has
still to make headway in
education.

CONCLUSION
From the above discuss ion it is understood that system approach is a s ys tematic attempt to coordinate all aspects of a problem towards specific objectives . In education, this means planned and organized use of all available learning resources , including audio. Vis ual media, to achieve, the desirable learning objectives by the m ost effi cient poss ible.
