Objective and scope of migration to version 7.4

The current SAP PI 7.1 system is running

unchanged since 2011 and will run out of support

An upgrade to the current version SAP PO 7.4 is

required to ensure support, improve performance
further and reduce cost of operations

New functions will be used for business

requirements like the UDI submission

There will be no functional changes of existing

interfaces by the upgrade

Migration and Test approach

The new SAP PO 7.4 will be installed as a separate

system landscape in parallel to SAP PI 7.1

No big bang - Interfaces can be migrated one by

one once a UAT is successful

In case of issues on a specific interface on PO 7.4,

this can fall back to the PI 7.1 system

All business critical processes need to be tested

end-to-end and signed off before deployment to
production

Migration day and time can be aligned with the

process owner to minimize business impact

Tests can start from April 6

Shut down old PI systems by end of June
