ABSTRACT
Power Plug Meter is a device which can measure
and display the voltage, current and power of the
device connected to the plug itself. The function of
the plug is used when the device is consuming at
the moment of that particular time. This device is
user friendly and really useful for consumer that
wants to monitor their power cost. The product or
power plug meter, can be inserted between the wall
socket and electric devices. With the help of this
Power Plug Meter, user can make certain how much
of their standby appliances cost, what the power
factor is, whether the appliances are really charged,

PROJECT BACKGROUND
Electricity is the most important source of power in our daily life. It is
always hard to monitor power usage. Therefore, the purposed of
power plug meter mainly is to ease consumer in monitoring their
usage of power on electrical appliences. It is designed to make
homes more dynamic, functional and work better for modern
lifestyles. This also gives users intelligent control over all of their
home electronics. When inserting the Power Meter Plugs into any
wall socket, enables consumers to switch or schedule a connected
electronic device on/off. While allowing the embedded power meter
allows them to monitor and manage power usage. Power can be
switch off to when a user-defined usage limit is reached

OBJECTIVE
To Measure The Power Consumption For
Consumer.
To Calculate The Cost Of Electrical Appliances On
Plug
For Consumer.
To Display Cost Of Electrical Appliances On Plug

Consumer.

METHODOLOGY
The voltage divider circuit was construct using 30K and 7.5K resistor
connected in series to each other. In between of both resistor there are
connection to Arduino pin A1 that will read the output voltage.
The usage of current sensor ACS712 to detect current from source that is by
connecting the Vcc pin to 5V pin, ground to the ground , output to pin A0
Arduino, IP+ pin to load positive and the IP- to load negative.
The LCD connection were made by following the datasheet for LCD and the
potentiometer to adjust it brightness.
The coding has been created and uploaded to Arduino using USB Cable
provided.
Therefore, the product will measure the current, voltage, power and total
usage for the load the wanted to be measured.

CONCLUSION
Since from the very beginning, the purpose of this project is to
help people solve their difficulties in life. Thus, the product of
Power plug meter is design to be helpful, safe and efficient
product. By using this product, it can build an intelligent, energyefficient which are designed to make homes work better for
modern lifestyles. Power plug Meter will keep consumer updated
on its screen and alarm consumer on budget alerts, and can
provide power usage reports. This way consumer can save
money by leading an energy-efficient life and stay connected to
the things you every day.
