ELON REEVE MUSK

Born June 28, 1971 (Current age 43) in South
Africa

Son of a model and a electrical/mechanical

engineer

He discovered computing at the age of 10, and

thought himself computer programming

At age 12 he sold a BASIC (Beginners Allpurpose Symbolic Instruction Code) listing for a
video game for $500

He was also divorced 3 times and has 6 children

Currently worth $8,3 billion

COMPANIES
Known as The guy who is saving the world for his involvement
with a number of companies that create and use clean energy
as well as promoting and upgrading electrical vehicles and solar
energy

CEO and CTO of SpaceX

CEO and product architect of Tesla Motors
Cofounded PayPal, Tesla Motors, Zip2 and founded SpaceX
Conceptualized Hyperloop and proposed a VTOL (Vertical Take
Off and Landing) supersonic jet

Elon founded an internet company called X.com, an internet payment company

Due to the competitive market, X.com merged with PayPal
Elon was the brain behind marketing and came up with the idea to get people
to use internet payment; by offering $20 to every new account and $20 to
every referred friend

After merging he was the CEO of PayPal for a while, after which he was fired,
but he kept his stocks in the company

Later PayPal was bought by eBay for $1.5 billion, of which Elon got $165 million
To this day PayPal is the largest internet payment company

Space Exploration Technologies Corporation

Goal to take humans to Mars
After teaching himself Rocket Science he realized he could be more efficient than
NASA

Founded in 2002 by Elon Musk with enough money for 3 attempts to launch a rocket
He successfully launched a rocket on the 4th attempt, after having to borrow money
to help keep up Tesla Motors and to launch the 4th rocket in 2008, during the
financial crisis

After the successful launch, NASA gave SpaceX $1,6 billion contract to bring items to
the ISS

Founded in 2003 with $20 million dollars by Elon,

because he thought he had to do something about

climate change and thought using clean energy for
cars would make a huge impact

First production line electric car (over 320km with one

charge, first practical Electrical Vehicle), the Tesla
Roadster (also the first electric sports car)

After the 2008 financial crisis, Tesla launched the

Model S, which got a 5,4 star safety rating out of a

possible 5 stars

Tesla started selling shares and made $2 billion dollars

After the success of Tesla other companies where
forced to work towards clean energy for their vehicles
because it was now proven possible

HYPERLOOP

After hearing the California government

got the money to make the worlds most
expensive (and very slow) bullet train,
Elon Musk developed the documentation
for a completely new method of
transportation, the HyperLoop

It is supposed to be cheaper than trains

and faster than airplanes

After creating the design, he put it on the

internet, for free, because he didnt have
the time to make it himself

Construction of the first HyperLoop set to

begin in 2016

ELECTRIC AIRCRAFT
Elon Musk designed an airplane powered by electricity that could
reach supersonic speeds

Without jet engines, it needs less air which allows higher flights
Higher flights lead to less air resistance meaning higher speeds
He also thinks he can make it work with vertical landing and
take-offs

OTHER IDEAS
COMPANIES
Double Decker roads
roads in 2 floors,
significantly reducing traffing
and possibly seperating
trucks from cars

Possible fusion high speed

collision of cells forming new
cells

OTHER
Solar City creates more
solar panels than any other
company in the world
combined
