Need of energy alternative

We need
alternative
energy so as to
reduce the
pressure on the
current sources
of energy.

Introduction

Micro generation also called "micro power", is

the generation of zero or low carbon electrical
power by individuals, small organization and
communities to meet their own needs.
Micro generation can act as a catalyst for
energy boosting and enhancement with
centralized generation or the traditional
generation.
Distributed generation systems (DGS) can
separate from the grid and provide power
directly to a small number of users.

Introduction
Distributed generation sources principally
include gas turbines, internal combustion
engines, microturbines, photovoltaic cells,
wind generators, biomass combustions, fuel
cells, batteries, ultracapacitors and other
renewable energy and storage systems.
Transmission losses and theft.

Objectives of DGS
Use of resources that entail no fuel use
Reduction in the need for transmission
utilization by locating sources of generation
close to the point of end use.

Realization that fossil fuels are finite in

existence, and making an attempt to move
toward a more sustainable society
Aligning some of the objectives of power
engineering to public opinion.

Structure of DGS

MAS Control strategy of

DGS

DGS based on various renewable resources has some major

characteristics as following:
(a)It is a multiple link, inter-coupling and nonlinear system, and
it integrates wind, solar light and biogases etc resources to have
various and different characteristics, and also easy to affect by
outside various factors to present the obvious nonlinear group.
(b)It is dynamic and random because the various resources of
DGS show uncontrollable and random feature in time and
difficult to predict accurately because it is constrained to
external conditions of wind and solar light.
(c)It is an integrated generation, storage, distribution and
transmission into an autonomous micro-grid system, and whose
generation sources, storages, control methods and operation
modes, etc are all different and diverse.

MAS Control strategy of

DGS
Based on the characteristics of DGS and
agent modeling theory adopts Multi-agent
system (MAS).
MAS appoints each device or sub-system
as an individual agent and define their
mutual work relations for the mutual
cooperation and coordination to maintain
the safe and stable operation of the whole
system.

MAS theory
MAS are a control system to organize multiple
agents in a certain structure, and each agent
could run independently and also
communicate in its language and co-operate
each other to ensure them working in an
optimal way.
Its aim is to divide the large and complex
system into some small sub-systems
according to each agent characteristic and
function, so that they can communicate,
coordinate mutually andmanage easily.

MAS control strategy

MAS control strategy

Conclusion

Its key role and function

1]To reduce the cost of building new power

station or upgrading transmission and
distribution network.
2] To supply more energy and backup
service to big grid to improve its operation
stability.
