CLUB

Co-Curriculum in School
Co-curriculum is a learning channel that is
based on work planned. This is a continuation of
the work of teaching and learning in the
classroom. Thus the co-curricular activities can
provide opportunities for students to improve,
strengthen and practice the knowledge, skills
and values learned in the classroom. (Buku

Objectives of Co-Curriculum in
School
Give experience to students who will assist them
in achieving perfect life
Provide
opportunities
for
students to improve, measure and practice the
skills,
knowledge
and
values
they have learned during the learning in the
classroom

Encouragement to Play Chess


In an effort to encourage chess among
secondary schools, circular on the chess game
in the secondary schools have been issued by
Ministry of Education Malaysia
Surat Pekeliling Iktisas Bil 8 / 1971 Permainan

Among the contents of the circular are:
Set up a chess club - chess competitions not only
provide but also set up training classes to students
who can not play chess

Schools are encouraged to provide chess match


between level and trophies awarded, if necessary
State competition at the district or state can be
organized and appropriate trophies awarded, if
necessary
Courses on the game of chess to be held if
necessary to the teachers, especially in schools in
rural areas

Chess Game
Chess is a two-player board game played on a
chessboard
A square checker board with 64 squares
arranged in an eight-by-eight grid

Each player begins the game with sixteen
pieces, one king, one queen, two rooks,
two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns

Chess Club in School


Teachers involved will be given a chess coaching course
Objectives:
Helping teacher to understand better the basis in the
chess game
To ensure teacher can train students more effectively
Give guidance to the teacher in organizing chess
competition in school
Give training to the school teacher to run a systematic
training program to the students

The Students Membership
Membership prerequirement :
Open to all student
Register name to the club secretary
Fees RM1
Termination of Membership :
If the student do not attend for the respective 3 times
without any valid reason, the membership will be
automatically terminated.

Goals and Purpose of Chess


Club in School
Provide opportunities for students who are
interested in learning and mastering in the game
of chess
This game involves a lot of energy that can be
thought to train students to use their brain
more efficient and effective
A good way for students to rest their brains, by
using a healthy recreational.
