HERITAGE:
Roshanara Bagh was built
exquisitely, expansively and
expensively by Princess
Roshanara.
Roshanara Bagh is located in
the vicinity of the Clock Tower,
Kamala Nagar and the
University of Delhi, North
Campus.
Roshanara Bagh was built
exquisitely by her as it is
stated that she had ample
funds to commission a
majestic garden. There is also
a tomb of Roshanara built
within Roshanara Bagh at the
center.

SIGNIFICANCE:
Daughter of the Mughal
emperor Shah Jahan, Roshanara
was a princess who had an
important role to play in history.
Today her grave shows little signs
that once she was such a
powerful and influential princess.
Her tomb, situated near Sabzi
Mandi in North Delhi is a poorly
maintained structure lying in
shambles.
It is hard to believe that when
Roshanara lived, her palace was
in the middle of a dense forest
where now there is roving traffic
and congested roads.

USE:
Roshanara Bagh is one of the reputed organizations. The Club

organizes several programs and other events, year in, year out; such
as, Cricket tourneys, Sunday Cricket matches, major fairs during the
festivities and other social gatherings. The Club also holds exclusive
functions for its members.

WHY CONSERVE?
-The site is located in the heart of a
prime area .
-Aurangzeb had her interred in the
garden that she had designed. The
famous Roshanara Bagh (Garden) in
Delhi was known for its beauty. Later,
in the time of the British Raj, the
English converted it into a country club
for their use. Although she died in
ignominy, the Bagh and her tomb are
both victims of criminal disrepair, and
her name has faded into obscurity.
CONSERVE WHAT?

-Connectivity of the tomb from

Roshanara road.
