Nanoteknologi

NANOMATERIAL DAN
PRODUKSINYA

Nanomaterial
Nanomaterial: material yang
mempunyai satu atau lebih dimensi
eksternal dalam skala nano, atau
mempunyai struktur internal atau
permukaan dalam skala nano.

Nanomaterial

Nano-object

Ontologi / Wujud
Nanodispersi

Nano-structured material
materials with a nanoscale structure
either within the material or on its
surface.
Example: viruses, membrane, protein
complex, nanocomposites,
agglomerates.

Synthesis of Nanomaterials

Bottom Up Approach
These seek to arrange smaller components
into more complex assemblies.
Use chemical or physical forces operating
at the nanoscale to assemble basic units
into larger structures.
examples :
1. AuNPs synthesis using citrate reduction
method.
2. Formation of carbon nanotubes.

Top Down Approach

These seek to create smaller devices
by using larger ones to direct their
assembly.
The most common top-down
approach to fabrication involves
lithographic patterning techniques
using short wavelength optical
sources.

Synthesis of Metal NP

Polymeric Nanoparticles
Polymeric nanoparticles (PNPs) are
defined as particulate dispersions or solid
particles with size in the range of 10-1000nm.
Composed of synthetic or semi-synthetic
Polymers.
Biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles:
Polylactic acid (PLA),
Polyglycolic acid (PGA),
Polylactic - glycolic acid (PLGA),
Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)

The selection of matrix materials is

dependent on many factors including:
(a) size of nanoparticles required
(b) inherent properties of the drug, e.g.,
aqueous solubility and stability;
(c) surface characteristics such as charge
and permeability;
(d) degree of biodegradability,
biocompatibility and toxicity;
(e) Drug release profile desired; and
(f) Antigenicity of the final product.
