Introduction
Health system resilience can be defined as the capacity
of health actors, institutions and populations to prepare
for and effectively respond to crises;: maintain core
functions when a crisis hits; and ,informed by lessons
learned during the crisis, reorganize if conditions require
it. Kruk et al (2015)
Leadership in nursing creates structure, implements
processes and facilitates positive outcomes in nursing
care. Solving complex nursing problems requires
effective nurse leadership.
We need to be flexible, adaptable and open to new
forms of learning

used to describe those leadership

Scenario -1

You as a Nurse Manager have a committee meeting


schedule at 8am and Nursing leadership calls for an
urgent meeting at the same time. The phone rings , your
babysitter inform you that your daughter had a seizure
and is on the way to the hospital.

Scenario - 2

In patient ward there are Ten patients occupied with 3


staffs on duty, three patients for surgery, one patient for
CT scan but KAUH- CT scan machine is out of order so
the patient should be brought to KKUH , Suddenly one
staff accidentally slips on the floor after endorsement and
she cant walk.

Scenario -3

A consultant has scheduled appointment for 26 patients


on Monday morning. On the day of appointment 16
patients are already waiting to see the consultant.
Suddenly half an hour before the appointment the
consultant calls and says he will not be present on that
day (due to personal reason).

Scenario -4

In OR , Room No: 2 A patient is undergoing a surgery


under general anesthesia. Suddenly you are able to sense
smoke in the room. Code red is being announced .

Scenario -5

Patient registered in ER with Open Globe injury , patient


must be brought to OR for admission but no bed
available on 7A because of renovation .

Scenario -6

We have only one isolation room in DEM occupied by a


patient then 2 patients comes at the same time with
respiratory score 5 and 7

Scenario -7
Patient in Room No: 5 complaints to Nurse manager
saying that he tried to call the Nurse using call bell system
and the nurse didn't attend him. After investigation the
sound of call bell is not working
