MECHANIC
The class will be divided into 8 teams. Each team should
S have 4 or 5 members.
The game is composed of 3 rounds: Elimination round,
Semi-final round, and Final round.
Before a team can make a move, they should answer first
the question correctly.
The first team to have three Xs / Os in a row is the winning
team for this round and will proceed to the next round

ELIMINATION
ROUND

1
It is a macromolecule which
consists of small molecular units
that are repeated over and over
again to form a long chain

2
It involves the breaking of double or
triple bonds, which are used to link
monomers into chains.

3
The initiator is a transition metal
complex, and the propagating site of
reactivity is a terminal catalytic
complex.

4
It is formed when monomers are
linked together with the release of a
smaller molecule.

5
A process wherein it is possible for
molecular chains to be joined to
each other by covalent bonds.

6
They are valued for their durability and
strength and are used extensively in
automobiles and construction including
applications such as adhesives, inks,
and coatings.

7
The most common type of thermoset.

8
When it is softened by heat, it can
then be shaped by extrusion,
molding, or pressing.

9
These may be camphor, esters of
phthalic, adipic, phosphoric, lauric,
oleic, ricinoleic, sebacic, stearic and
other stable and low-volatility acids.

1
0
These are fire retardants.

SEMI-FINAL
ROUND

1
This is usually a resin or cellulose derivative.

2
The initiator is a nucleophile, and
the propagating site of reactivity is
a carbanion

3
These may be added to increase strength.

4
These are added to facilitate the
molding operation.

5
This raw material used vary in
resistance to sunlight and to the
plastic binder.

6
In this process, a plastic is masticated
between two rolls that squeeze it out
into a film which then passes around
one or more additional rolls before bein
g stripped off as a continuous film.

7
These are terms for casting processes
in which a unit or assembly is encased or
impregnated, respectively, with a liquid
plastic which is subsequently hardened by
fusion or chemical reaction.

8
It is a low-pressure process requiring
nothing more than a container in the
shape of the desired part.

9
The production of plastic begins with a
__________ process in an oil refinery

1
0
The initiator is an acid, and the
propagating site of reactivity is a
carbocation.

FINAL
ROUND

1
A word which is used only for the blow
molding and indicates a material in the form
of a tube, pipe (bottomless or bottomed) or a
pair of sheets before the material is blown up
during the blow molding.

2
A polymer in which the molecules are held
together by weak secondary bonding forces
that soften when exposed to heat and return to
its original condition when cooled back down
to room temperature

3
Products that are commonly referred to
as plastics by the general public are
known to chemists as __________.

4
The distillation process involves the
separation of heavy crude oil into
lighter groups called _________.

5
True or False: Is plywood under the
product application of Phenol
Formaldehyde?

6
The forming of plastics sheets into parts
through the application of heat and
pressure.

7
A polymer that solidifies or sets
irreversibly when heated or cured

8
The process is primarily used for
thermosets and
consequently the mold is heated to
accelerate the chemical cross-linking

9
The first step in any composite
fabrication procedure

impregnated reinforcement can be subjected to
heat to remove impregnating solvents or
advance the resin cure to a slightly tacky or dry
state. The composite in this form is called a
