 SUBJECT: Amendment To Administrative Order No. 163


s. 2004:

 Rules And Regulations Governing The Registration


Licensure And Operation Of Dialysis Clinics In The
Philippines

 Pursuant to Administrative Order No. 163 s. 2004: Rules and


Regulations Governing the Registration, Licensure and
Operation of Dialysis Clinics in the Philippines, the
following provisions are hereby amended:

Under Section IV: POLICIES AND GUIDELINES


The aforementioned provision is hereby amended to read as

follows:
B. 1.3 Dialysis Nurse must
meet the following
requirements:
 Duly licensed
 Current member of Renal Nursing
Association of the Philippines (RENAP) or
certified Renal Nurse
 Certified IV therapy nurse
 Hospital / clinical work experience for (1)
year
 Certificates of special training on dialysis
for not less than thirty (30) days and on
Basic and Advanced Life Support

** At least one nurse per shift must have


Advanced Life Support training.


Other Staff
1. Head Nurse

 Must be certified by the Renal

Nurses Association of the


Philippines (RENAP)
 Must attend one post graduate

course on dialysis per year or


equivalent seminars in dialysis
 Completed and certified IV therapy

nurse
 Licensed and with experience in

hospital / clinical work for one (1)


year
2. Other Nursing Staff

 Certified by RENAP
 Completed and certified IV therapy nurse
 Attends updates related to nursing staff’s
duty
 Licensed and with experience in hospital /
clinical work for one (1) year
 Nurse patient ratio 1:4
 Advanced Life Support training

**At least one Nurse per shift with BLS


training

Effectivity:

This Order shall take effect upon approval


and publication in the official gazette or
newspaper of general circulation.
