Economic Opportunity
• The Indian film industry is projected to grow by 13% over the
next five years, reaching Rs. 176 billion in 2012, nearly double
its present size.

• Cumulatively over the next five years, Domestic box office is

expected to grow at 11%, overseas collections at 19%, and
home video at 15%.

• Such growth, coupled with the emergence of vertically

integrated studios, is incredibly attractive to foreign investors.

• Investors also recognize increased returns from Indian

entertainment companies now that Indian producers have
moved beyond traditional box office revenue, and have
embraced revenue streams such as television, mobile,
Internet, home video, merchandise, and music.
