N

Pre Requisite conditions:

Turbine should be rolled and brought to 3000 rpm
Oil supply to generator bearing and seal oil system
should be charged
Hydrogen gas should be charged and pressure and
purity should be at rated values
H2 gas coolers water supply should be at normal
temperatures

Procedure:
Take clearance from electrical department
Close bus isolator then transformer side isolator
Close exciter field breaker, voltage starts building
Put AVR in auto

Important conditions:
Incoming machine frequency and grid frequency
should be equal
Incoming generator voltage and grid voltage
should be same
Phase sequence should be matched
Phase error should be zero

Synchroscope:
Switch on the synchroscope

 If incoming frequency is greater than grid

frequency than synchroscope rotates in clockwise
direction
If incoming frequency is less than grid frequency
than synchroscope rotates in anticlockwise
direction
When synchronoscope is rotating clockwise and
between 11o clock and 12o clock position
Close the GCB
