Distribution Planning

Outbound

Distribution planning can begin when stock orders are received from the host
system (ORMS)
Stock orders are replenishment requests by stores or Allocations to Stores.
Stock orders are categorized as pre-allocations and post allocations.
Pre-Allocations are used for Flow-Through picking
Post Allocations are used for Manual Picking (Wave)
When manual stock orders are selected for distribution, they are assigned to waves.
Each wave may use one of the following distribution methods:
o Efficiency: Picking is completed with least distance traveled by a picker.
The picker picks from each location until is it empty.
o Pick to clean: The picker is sent to the most locations that can be picked clean.
This frees up the most locations.

Item Class Maintenance

Administration

Item Classes are used to group items based on common

characteristics
These characteristics may include Item Attributes, Item Processes and
Equipment Classes
Item Attributes are used to trigger item behaviour. Ex: We are using
SSD attribute for furniture items for Home Centre, this attribute allows
us to trigger a single step putaway. Another example is
PUTAWAY_TO_UPL attribute, which triggers an item to be putaway
into Unit Pick Locations from staging.
Item Processes are used to define what kind of picks are allowed for
an item. ORWMS allows many different picks (this includes
replenishment picks) like B (Bulk), C (Case), (U) Unit etc. Landmark
will not use all available pick types for an item, this can be customised
using Item Classes by assigning required processes.

Location Classes are used to categorise locations in a Warehouse

Each location class can have different characteristics
These characteristics include
location attributes, which will help trigger certain actions.
Ex: DEL_EMPTY_UPL attribute, which is applicable to UPL locations. It
will indicate that when picking or cycle counting, if location becomes
empty, item/location association will be deleted. This is Landmark
custom attribute.
Processes for picking. Processes identify what kind of picks are allowed
