We know the Greek origin story from some of the earliest Greek literary sources.

This oral poet is thought to have been active sometime between 750 and 650 BCE.

Archaeological findings support the creation story recorded in Hesiods work, pottery from the
eighth century BCE, depicts the gods and goddesses.

Before Hesiod told this patriarchal version, in which the first woman is the cause of much trouble,
Pandora, whose name means gift giver,.

The Iliad

In the beginning there was Chaos, also called the Dark God. Out of the void emerged Gaia and other
divine beings Eros, the Abyss, and the Erebus. Then Gaia gave birth to Uranus, who then fertilized her.
The first Titans were born
six males: Coeus, Crius, Cronus, Hyperion, Lapetus, and Oceanus
six females: Mnemosyne, Phoebe, Rhea, Theia, Themis, and Tethys.
After Cronus was born, Gaia and Uranus decreed no more Titans were to be born.

Cronus castrated his father and threw the severed into the sea, from with arose Aphrodite, the
goddess of love, beauty and sexuality. Cronus become the rules of god with his sister wife , Rhea as the
consort of Cronus.Titan became a court.
Cronus afride that his offspring would do the same. Because he had betreyed his father. So,when his
offspring had born he Cronus would snatched his children and ate them. Rhea hated this and tricked him
by hiding one child, Zeus, and gave Cronus a wrapped stone. Rhea then secretly raised Zeus and when
Zeus is ready, he challenged his father. In the end, Zeus was the winner.

Zeus had the same concern

Cronus did. After a prophecy that his
first wife, Metis, would give birth to a
god greater than him, he swallowed
Metis. But Metis is already pregnant
wth Athena in her womb. After a
while, Zeus encountered a massive
headache. He howled so loudly it
could be heard throughout the world.
Athena bursted out of his head, full
grown and armored. Zeus was able to
fight off and remain the king of gods
in Olympus.

Prometheus, son of the titan lapetus, was spared

imprisonment because he didnt fight with Zeus. He was tasked
to create life. He give each species a special ability such as flight
and swiftness. By the time he reach human, he already ran out of
abilities so he made man stand upright like gods. He loved
human so much he stole fire from olympus and gave them to
mankind.
