What is the BBC


BBC stands for British broadcasting corporation.
The BBC is a broadcasting company. They televise
programs to the general public. The organization
is the oldest broadcasting company in the world.
The BBC has a set annual charge to households
across the world. This is set by a British
government and then has to be agreed with by
parliament.
The BBC dont only run a television service but
also run many other sectors including weather
and radio.

Why is it important
The BBC is important as it has licenses
that allow it to televise certain programs
such as match of the day that other
channels cant show. as it is the first
channel that was ever created it has a
long history of shows and new that have
been displayed on it. BBC 1 would be
classed as the main channel there is this is
why it is respected by so many. It shows
shows, news and historic happenings that
are important it can not be swayed by
other company it wants to show British

The ethos of the BBC is to entertain, educate
and inform the public of events happening.
The BBC want to be the most informative
channel in the world and want to teach the
public about events happening around the
world this is there vision.

What is the purpose of an


IDENT
The purpose of an IDENT is to
advertise a brand or company. This is
usually a short clip, this can be in the
format of an animation. The purpose
is to make brand awareness, before a
program is shown or at an advert you
will constantly see the companies
name such as e4 or itv. A logo can
also be shown within the clip this
makes the brand unique so is more

How have the IDENTS changed over


time and why
The first IDENT was shown by the BBC in 1950
when they chose to show there logo in between a
program. IDENTS have developed over time with
the introduction of new technology. This has
allowed company's to develop there IDENTS this
has led to short clips of animation that will show
there logo and name in a creative way. They try
to make the clip as unique and creative as
possible so that it is memorable.

constant themes

There is always a constant similarity which is that the name


of the company is shown such as BBC there is no IDENT
that has been made by the BBC that does not advertises
there name, this is the idea behind an IDENT. In most of
BBC ones IDENTS there are always a circler theme behind
them, I think that this represents the One for BBC one but
also the world.
