Advanced Human Rights and Social, Economic and

Apply and Understanding of Social, Economic, and
Environmental justice:
In Adult Protective Services also referred as (APS) dealing with
disabled and abused, neglected or exploited and in need of
protective adults. Some tend to obtain financial issues such as low
income or either make to much and do not qualify for Medicaid.
Individuals who do not meet the requirements of APS will be
referred through another service or can be offered placement.

Advocate for human rights at the individual and system levels.

As APS it is our duty to help advocate for individuals who


are incompetent when decision making towards ethical
dilemmas such as medical decisions from ethical
perspectives. Some clients may not have a guardianship to
advocate for them, a Power of Attorney (PoA) or a family
member willing to become their guardian, this is where it
becomes our job to find the resources needed to make the
right service plan and make sure we provide and offer the
best protection towards this adult population. When
seeking Guardianship Decision Making, the individual
whether PoA or Guardianship is able to manage their funds
and property and help provide protection of an individual.
However, this will require written documents.

Engage in Practices that Advance Social, Economic,
and Environmental justice
Clients are given an FL2 statement upon referrals
and allegations. As APS it is our duty to help
advocate for individuals who are incompetent and
decision making towards ethical dilemmas such as
medical decisions from ethical perspectives.
