Jhumpa Lahiri

born to Bengali parents (Amar Lahiri & Tapti Lahiri),who emigrated from
India, in London in 1967 and later on moved to the United States

Notable works -Interpreter of Maladies (1999),The Namesake (2003),


Unaccustomed Earth (2008), The Lowland (2013)

Awards (2000) Pulitzer Prize for fiction, O. Henry Award, the


PEN/Hemingway Award, The New Yorker Best Debut of the Year Award

translated into 29 languages and became an international bestseller.
