Minor Misconduct
Unauthorized absence from the post of duty.
Committing nuisance on the Companys property including spitting at places not
specifically provided. HLL LIFECARE LTD/HR MANUAL/STANDING ORDERS
Carelessness, laziness, indifference or inattention to work not invoking loss to the
Company.
Canvassing for subscription, donation, contribution and the like within the
Company premises without prior written permission from the Management.
Committing any act prejudicial to health and cleanliness.
Entering or attempting to enter, leaving or attempting to leave the Factory
Premises except through gates or routes specified for the purpose.
Entering another department or a shop otherwise than in the course of his duty. \
Entering or remaining on Companys premises unless on duty without permission.
Late attendance
Engaging in idle talk or conversation or not showing any respect to others right to
work in peace.
Quarrelsome attitude towards workers.

Major Misconduct

Five acts of Minor Misconduct within a period of 12 months are considered


as a Major Misconduct.
Conviction by a Court of Law for any criminal offence involving violence or
moral turpitude.
Deliberately making false complaints or statements against co
workmen/superiors.
Deliberately spreading false information with a view to bringing about
disruption to Companys normal work.
Disclosing to any unauthorised person any confidential information
regarding the working of or any process used in the Factory which comes
into the possession of the workman during the course of his work.
Refusing to report at once any accident.
Falsifying or refusing to give testimony when accidents misconduct or other
matters are being investigated.
Absence without leave or without permission.
Overstay of leave without proper sanction from the concerned authority or
satisfactory explanation subject to the provision contained in Clause 22.2.
Handling any machine or apparatus not entrusted to his charge.
Impersonation.
Negligence or neglect of duty, malingering or inefficiency.

Major Misconduct

Refusal on the part of any workman to work on a job or a machine other


than the job or machine on which he is usually engaged or refusal to work
overtime (including on Sundays and Holidays) when exigencies of work
demand it.
Refusal to accept transfer from one shift, department or place to another.
Sabotage or willful damage to work or to property of the Company.
Slow down the work performance or inciting others to resort to go slow
tactics.
Striking work or inciting others to strike work in contravention of the
provisions of any law or rule in force.
Taking or giving bribes of any illegal gratification or indulging in corrupt
practices.
In-subordination or disobedience, whether alone or in combination with
others, to any lawful or reasonable orders of the superior

superior or other workman of the Company.
Leaving the work before scheduled time without sanction,
Sleeping or Loitering while on duty in the Factory premises.
Smoking in areas where it is prohibited., Gambling within the Company

Negligence or willful neglect of work or habitual negligence


in duty.
Deliberate abuse of any leave, privilege, concession or
benefits for the time being in force.
Refusal to do any other work of the same type of work of
similar nature.
Committing or aiding or abetting others to commit any act
prejudicial to the reputation or in financial interest of the
Company.
Investigation, incitement, abetment in furtherance of any of
these acts of misconduct.
Sexual Harassment which includes such unwelcome
sexually determined behavior (whether directly or by
implication) has (i) physical contact for sexual favours (ii) a
demand on request for sexual favours (iii) sexually Coloured
remarks (iv) showing pornography (v) any other unwelcome

Punishment
Minor Misconduct:
The Punishment imposed by the Management for Minor Misconduct may take any of
the following forms or may be of any other nature as decided by the Management.
A written warning
Fine subject to the provisions of Payment of Wages Act 1936.
Suspension from service for a period not exceeding 3 days without wages.

Major Misconduct:
Discharged, terminated or dismissed without notice or compensation in lieu of notice.
Reduction in salary or withholding of increment or increments granted or to be
granted permanently or for a specified period.
Reduction to a lower post or time-scale or to a lower scale.
Barring promotion.
Suspension for a period of above five days.
