Generally, in order to reduce the dimension and weight of the transportation


unit, we should disassemble main counterweight, lower mast and rotary drive
from the the rotary drilling rig which is to be sent out abroad. So, we will interpret
the field installation of the drilling rigs according to the disassembly standard
above.

Drive the drilling rig to the working site. you can install the drilling rig
equipment after confirming that the site has been compacted to be flat.
Note: a wide site is the better choice.
Workers: at least 4-5 ( including operators)
Protective tools: Overalls, safety helmets, safety shoes, protective gloves,
protective glasses.
Tools: torque spanners + sockets(heavy), heavy spanners(sets), hex
spanners (sets), screwdrivers (word, cross), hand hammer, big hammer,
sling fitting (5 tons, 15 tons), oil basin.
Auxiliary materials: glyceride, square timber.
Equipment: Lubrication adding oil equipment, flame cutting equipment,
lifting equipment with at least 15 ton class.

1 Remove the rotary lock connecting


rodFunction: mechanical lock for the relative rotary movement of the body and chassis
during the transportation, prevent the danger caused by incorrect operation.
Note: When the connecting pin can not be pulled it out, you can slightly operate left
turn and right turn.

2 crawler stretching
Function: increased track spacing to improve vehicle stability. track must be set in
stretching condition before installation, construction, disassembly.
Action Tips
1, The four fixed pins should be pulled before you broaden the track.
2, press and hold the "D" button on the left operating handle, make the auxiliary control
panel switch effective, then operate the crawler telescopic switch on the auxiliary control
panel, The right controls crawler stretching movement and the left controls contraction
movement.
3, Install the 4 fixed pins after completing the stretching.

3 the installation of the counterweight.


Function: in the case of turning radius as small as possible, increase the overall
weight of equipment and maintain the overall balance of the working vehicle.
Action Tips,
1, rise the amplitude, make the mast just above the position where the balance weight
are installed, ensure that there are no interferes above when installing the balance
weight.
2, remove the mast transporting bracket;
3, reliably couple the balance weight hook by using U-ring and sling, through the crane,
lift the balance weight and put it to the installation seat.

4 connect the up mast and the middle mast


function: mast with folding box structure is easy for disassembly and transport;
1, make the mast down to horizontal and put on the mast
bracket;
2, pull out the block pin connecting the up mast and the
middle mast;
3, make the up mast stretched so that the up mast and the
middle mast will be in a straight line, reliably connect them
with.

Note:
1, you should avoid compression on the mast cables when rotating the up mast;
2, the bolt should be installed gradually, one by one, and in accordance with the
sequence of middle first, both sides after.
and should implement in accordance with the corresponding torque when tightening the
bolt .

5 link the pulley


yoke.
1, remove pulley yoke and the transport frame of the upper mast;
2, one end of the sling is linked to the pulley on the pulley yoke, the other end is
connected with the crane. (it can be also linked to Piston rod end, Using
pressurized cylinder piston rod pull out the pulley yoke );
3, make the pulley yoke link to the up head face of the upper mast.
Note:
1, the weight of the pulley yoke is about 1 ton, you need to use the right size sling
or lock tools;
2, avoid squeezing the cable when rotating the pulley frame.
3, the bolts should be installed with several bolts together at one time and
gradually, and in accordance with the sequence of middle first, both sides after.
and should implement in accordance with the corresponding torque when
tightening the bolt top head face of the upper mast by using bolts;

6 link the middle mast and the lower mast


1, firstly confirm that the main winch has been reliably linked to the lower mast;
2, make a reliable link between the main winch and the bolt hole of the lower mast by
using U-ring and sling , make it in a vertical state when it is hoisted;
3, Hoist the lower mast to the relative position to the shaft hole, load the pin, and fix it
reliably;
4, Install the connecting rod between the triangle and the lower mast, load the pin,
and fix it reliably
Note: The total weight of the main winch and the lower mast is about 2.5 tons. the
appropriate U-rings and slings should be used.

7 the setup of the rotary drive


1, make a reliable link to the rotary drive by using U-ring and sling, ensure lifting the
rotary drive, keep the
sliding ear in a vertical state.
2, hoisted by cranes, the rotary drive sliding ear will slide in along the guide rails of
the lower mast.
Note: the weight of the rotary drive is about 5 tons, the appropriate U-rings and
slings should be used. In addition, when removing the rotary drive tubing, oil basins
should be prepared to avoid polluting the surrounding environment.

8 the installation of the main winch tubing


1, before removing tubing, you should prepare a oil
loading container to avoid pollution of the environment;
2, then unscrew the hose plug, and connect and tighten
them one by one ,from inside to outside, as shown.

10 link electric equipment


All the wiring harness of the rotary drilling rigs adopt integrated form. The adapter
connectors adopt plug way.

11 link the bolts of the middle mast and the lower mast,
the pressure cylinder;

and pin of

1, when lifting the mast, while the down flange face of the middle mast is joint with the
up flange face, immediately stop, and then connect by blots.
2, remove the connecting rod between the triangle and the middle mast.
3, connect rotary drive and pressure cylinder, adjust the mast to be vertical, stretch the
pressure cylinder to be bear the rotary drive, and repeatedly extend-retract and adjust
the position, install the pin linked the rotary drive and cylinder, and tighten the baffle
bolts near the pin.

1 Down the mast from upright state slowly, After recover mast cylinder, and then
recover the luffing cylinder, put mast on the counterweight bearing seat gradually
2 Operation monitor on the main winch mode, use left operating handle, release
sufficient main minch wire rope
3 Remove the pin of pulley yoke which prevent wire rope out, thrill wire rope
through the big pulley of pulley yoke
4 Continue release the wire rope that lead the end of rope can reach power head

5 Setting the pin of pully yoke which prevent the wire rope out;
6 Use clamp holderand rope clamp tighten the end of rope

13 Test working of Rotary Drilling Rigs


After setting, all the work of principal organs should be tested is ok, if oil leak or not;
1 Test working of luffing organs: Check luffing cylinder working if normal;
2 Test working of power head: operating handle let power head forward, reverse, high
rejection soil;
3 Test working of mast organs: Operation mast handle, up and down the mast, in the
upright state, adjust mast to oblique state slowly, check left and right obliquity 6 , forward
and backward 5 is normal or not;
4 Test working of main winch: operating handle let main up and down heavy things,
heavy things should be stop immediately when release handle, and locked in the current
location firmly ;
5 Test working of Aux. winch: method as above;
6 Testing the validity of all limit switch: manually toggle luffting backward limit
switches, Mast left and right limit switches, main and auxiliary winch limit switch, to see if the
monitor alarm, the switch is effective or not.
7 Checking display of depth sounding and turning angle: operating handle, observe
the display of depth sounding and turning angle is normal or not;

14 Connection of elevator and Kelly


Connect the elevator and Kelly bar firmly with pin, bolts, washers, etc.
Pay attention on the orientation of elevator, dont assemble reversely, turn the elevator,
up connection and middle connection are connected firmly, as a whole part, connect
wire rope, down Connection is a whole part, connect Kelly Bar.

15 Connect unlockgimbal and Kelly Bar


As followed method: let 3 unlock gimbal 4.
Kelly Bar pass 1. Bolt, 2 washer 5 washer 6
Nut connection, tighten
Note: the torque of tighten should reach
M16:274N.M-323N.M

Put down the Kelly bar stable that let the opening direction of unlock gimbal adown,
adjust machine, let power head towards upside of Kelly bar, let the longitudinal axis of

18 Setting Kelly Bar


1 Operating main winch slowly, lift the Kelly bar slowly, at the same time move the
machine close to the Kelly bar, maintain the angle between wire rope and mast as small
as possible, and slowly lift the Kelly bar from the ground;

18 Setting Kelly Bar


2 Stop the lifting when the bottom of Kelly bar over the power head, adjust mast to
the upright state slowly. Must keep the slide of unlockgimbal catching the front surface of

18 Setting Kelly Bar


3 Play down luffting slowly let the outer key aligned inner key of power head,
play down the key bar slowly let kelly bar fall down into key set of power head.
Power head wheel hub has to Kelly bard key groove, one is all friction type and another
is inter locking type, it should be corresponding When assemble the Kelly bar, can not
assemble wrong, or likely to cause damage of equipment. (Friction-type Kelly bar use
6 Key bar inside the power head, inter locking-type use 3 only)

1 Put the drilling tools on the ground firmly, the connection side up
2 Up the mast, adjust position of power head, Kelly bar and machine, let Kelly bar
square head match the connection of drilling tools
3 Play down main winch (Kelly bar) slowly, rotating power head aligned with the
square head and connecting side of drilling tools if necessary, play down Kelly bar
square head into drilling tools square head, fixed with pin and lockpin.

Note:
1, Before the down and up mast, the first thing need to up the luffting higher than
the driving cab, can avoid cab damage caused by misuse, then can do the process of
mast down and up operation, when the mast angle is lower than 85 degrees, as the
ground of inequality factors, the tilt angle on display is not accurate, so, only can
determine if the length in accordance with the length of mast cylinder extended by
naked eyes.

Requirement of load and unload trailer


1 when rotary drilling rig load and unload trailer, need adjust the mast height ,angel,
avoid equipment hit the ground and break.
2 Try to maintain the speed of rotary drilling rig up and down the trailer, follow the
direct line, and better have someone to guide this action.
3.The speed switch should turn to low speed, and dont change it , avoid the
dangerous of moving.
4 Use bevel or load platform, place a block for the wheel, avoid trailer moving.
5 when rig driving in the ramp, dont do other action except for moving lever.
6 clean the trailer before loading, the oil ,mud, ice will bring the dangerous of slip.
7 Dont steering when up and down the ramp, its very dangerous.
8.As the rig shoe is flat, so cross the join site of top ramp and trailer, rig will pitch or
retroverted, so need drive carefully.

Up the trailer
1 Start engine, operate the moving lever, back drive to trailer, keep the
barycenter of trailer and drilling rig overlap.
2 Adjust the mast height; avoid upgrade working equipment touch the
ground.
3 Under the guiding of guider , driving slowly to the trailer, when Driving to
the joint site of trailer and slope, the drilling rig will nod front wise or back wise,
please drive slowly and carefully, use the lowest speed to drive to the trailer.
4 Rig on the suitable position, keep the even the crawler and trailer two sides
equal.
5. Control the paralleling system, and lower the mast height to transport state
6. stop engine, take off the engine, and operate serial times control lever, until
the hydraulic oil pressure release

Note:
For the above lubrication housing and times, I f it has some charges, please contact with
the after-services departments of SANY.
If the rig is working in the minus temperature, please follow this process to up the
temperature to make sure the hydraulic system is safe: Start up the rig, for about 7-10
minutes, and raise the speed to 1000-1200r/min, and dont do any operation about the rig,
after 30-40 min or more, then the hydraulic oil temperature reach 20 .
Note: In the low temperature, if you didnt do the above work, the hydraulic pump and motor
will be destroyed.
After above work, we could use the rig to drill, and meanwhile, we should adjust the time
depend on the temperature.
In the drilling time, we should operate very slow, and watch the rigs condition.

Preparation Work of Operation
Keep the Rig working well
Shorten the trouble time
Reduce the cost of Maintenance

Note:
The inspect time could follow the
working hours or the required inspect
days. But should choose the one which
come first.
When the maintenance time come,
besides the inspect of the requirement
content, we also should cover the former
inspect. For Example, If you are do the
500 hours maintenance, you should also
cover the 100 hours and 250 hours
maintenance.
The engine maintenance should
follow the third partys manual.
This gamma is not cover all
maintenance content, please follow the
Gamma 2.4 ---- the first time when
working 50 hours and the gamma 2.9
each 2000 hours maintenance.

Note:
when you Check or maintain, you
should indoor or in a clean place
Its very dangers to maintain when the
rig is loading. So we must off the engine,
and put a board which writ Maintenance
Time on the cabs door.
The pump , valve, motor of the
hydraulic system is not allow to adjust or
break down.

Change the following guide nylon board


1. Use the opening wrench to wrench the
NO.1 in the reverse direction, to make it
loose about round.
2. Take out NO.1 and NO.2, place them
safely.
3. Take out the NO.3 which is used for fixing
the nylon board.
4. Wash the holes and connecting surface,
and clean them with cloth.
5. Equip new nylon boards.

Lifting unit
Check the flexibility of the lifting unit
everyday.
1, lay down the mast. Caution the rotary
head and the Kelly bar to avoid the
instability and fall off.
2,rotate the wire rope which is connected
the main winch and lifting unit, and keep
it in proper tight to avoid the disorder of
the rope.
3,stablize one end and rotate one end of
the lifting unit. If it can not rotate flexibly,
insert yellow oil or change new one.
Caution
_______________________________________
Open the oil knob at the other end when oil insert.
Foreign things ,like oil, sand etc,. Will damage the
flexibility, performance and stability of the lifting unit.

Rotation bearing lubrication


1) Clean the oil knob of the rotation bearing
before the lubrication.
2) insert the lubrication oil through the oil
knob, until the oil can flow out.
3) rotate the bearing 45, repeat the
process 2) three times.
4) dont insert too much oil.
Caution
_____________________________________
Enough new lubrication oil should be inserted
before and after the long time working.
Insert the oil till the oil can flow out.
Turn the rotation bearing slowly, to make the
oil penetrate.
Check the oil seals regularly. In case of
damage, change it in time.

Rotation bearing gear lubrication


1. Take off the oil knob near the chassis of
mobile arm to check the oil level.
2. take off the bolt(3) and gasket (4).
3. check the gasket (4), if damage, change
new ones.
4. check the oil level , make sure the oil well
distributed in the bottom.
5. the oil should not be contaminated or
color changed.
Caution
________________________________
Make sure the lubrication oil right.
The excessive oil will cause the damage of
the oil quality. This will cause the damage of
the small gear and other interior gears.
The insufficient of the oil will cause bad
lubrication.

Besides the regular checking of the oil level, the
following two cases are also need the adding of the
lubrication oil.
1.Before the opening of the machinery.
2. After 3 month stock of the machinery.

when change the oil, the oil should be pump out
when it still arm. The high temperature oil will
cause harms to the human, please keep the skin

Check the oil level regularly and insert the
lubrication oil accordingly.
1, the first time is in the opening of the machinery.
2, when the machinery is not in use for more than 3
months.
Procedures:
1, place the machinery in a flat ground, adjust the
mast part ,which main winch is equipped, in
verticality.
2, turn off the oil knob.
3. If the oil floes out, it is in enough status, if not,
insert oil.

_____________________________
More Safety attention should be attached ,when the
main winch maintenance or the change. Kelly bar
should be taken off when the maintenance and
changes of the motor reducer.

Gear box gear oil level check


1. Make the rotary head stand straight.
2. Check the oil level when the rotary head
stopped.
3. Oil level should reach to 2/3 of the glass
tube.
4. When the oil level is low, wrench the
reducer oil plug to insert oil. When the
oil is too much, pipe out proper
lubrication oil .
Caution
____________________________________
1, change the oil when the oil temperature is
still warm after stop.
2, if the environment temperature is low, warm
up the oil and wash the interior cavity, before
the oil change.(55/122F)
3, prohibited to use the gasoline, diesel to
wash the gear box.

Hydraulic oil change

caution

Hydraulic oil is the working media for the


hydraulic system. High quality oil can improve
the reliability and the service life of the
hydraulic system.

Mix use of different brands and models oils is


prohibited.

Tips in choosing the hydraulic oil


To choose right hydraulic oil, the contour circuit
working temperature which is related to the
environment temperature.
We recommend the high viscosity level oil, which
can fit the working temperature by its best
viscosity.
